Hood mascot is just a mod to me.

I originally thought it was to show what brand you are loyal too while sporting their products.  I realized that isn't the case.  I thought that way from looking at so many bodykit companies and their demo cars and obviously they use all their own products.   I don't think it matters anymore what kit you have or what company you like or like to represent.  I just like the design of some of the ornaments.  Especially the Junction Produce ones....anyone else have favorites or sporting one already?   I have a F50 but the factory OEM hood ornament is ugly and wouldn't even consider it.   

What do some of you think of like say a Insurance bodykit with a Junction Produce mascot?   Would some of you laugh and say "wtf?"   or just be like "nice"...

Seriously I have a OEM President mascot and love it. Gives the car more class I think.

I would say if that's what you want to do then do it.

Mixed feelings.

I'm leaning more towards associating the badge with the main supplier of parts on the car though, otherwise it's kind of irrelevant...but then again it is just a decoration.

easier to get away with it than with a badge though, as it has no brand name affixed to it.

i'm with firelizard, in theory it should match but in reality it doesn't matter. i like the jp badges.

Its your car so at the end its your choice.  But personally, I would try to get atleast one part from that company like a spoiler or even a roof wing

You've got to be kidding Blitz...:slap:. I agree with Damicci and  Pancakes, the OEM mascots are better quality in my opinion. You actually have to drill holes in your hood to attach the OEM mascot, and emblem portion is spring loaded as well to prevent breakage where it attaches to the base. I heard the JP ones just stick on w/ double stick tape (more prone to theft), not sure if any are spring loaded either. Don't get me wrong the JP ones are hot, but as far a people seeing the car coming at them or looking from front driver/passenger view the OEM will have more presence and class. The JP one will just look like a line when coming at you, from the side it will look better but I'd rather see the mascot from the driver seat and for people to see it coming at them. I guess it's just a matter or preference. I just love seeing my Cima mascot while driving!!! BLING BLING

My buick has the OEM. hahaha!! Anyways, like mentioned above, OEM hood ornaments are harder to steal. Usually.

I feel the same way but honestly, if another person tells me- why do I got a benz front end on?  im going to break their nose.  its so annoying.  Even cops do it when I get pulled over like once every week.  I cant stand it.  Im about to change the grill and mascott real soon beacuse of it.

i didn't know the JP was just a stick on...I figure it has some mounting screws or something...I just don't like the stock one for some reason...looks funny.   Maybe it'll grow on me.   What "VIP platform" cars came stock with hood ornaments in the japan models?

Actually the JP one is meant to be screwed on, mine has a hole for it and came with screws.  I just chose heavy double sided tape cause I dont want a hole in my hood and its very reliable.

I'm just messing around and bored...I did read some posts in other threads and got the impression some people think you have to be at a certain stage to wear a mascot....whatever..I'll get one eventually but I want to mount it rather then just double side tape it.

I thought so...maybe they have models that are just tape on?   OR maybe it is a copy!!!! LOL

I wasn't seriously bagging on you, just fun. But like everyone said it's up to you. I just think if your car came with a mascot form the factory in Japan then why not sport it. Otherwise do what you want to do.
