Should I just cut these springs? They are swift springs and I believe they are supposed to drop 1" front and .4" rear...which seems about right after installing them.

Yes finally lol. I would leave the back as it is until you get air but I would cut the front springs. Hope this time around its easier to remove and put them on.

how long ago did you put them on? do they still need to settle? don't bother cutting, it'll ruin the ride and your bushings. Winter is coming up, between rain, and cut springs, it could turn out to be a disaster on such a heavy car.

Yeah I'm sure it's easier now...but looks like I shouldn't cut it. My friends didn't believe I changed springs. Even on speed bumps my car hits the bump when it compresses down. I now turn on the 'sport' mode when i go over bumps...it really makes it stiffer and the bounce travels alot less.

These springs are more for comfort with a small drop.

It's been about 2 weeks now. I think it's pretty much settled in. I knew if I cut it would ruin the ride but its just a temporary solution. Didn't think about the rain...you might be right. My tires will wear evenly since there is hardly any added - camber. It's funny I scrape the middle of my chassis going over large humps from my work driveway. It's a long hump that slopes down to the parking lot and right at the apex of the bump i scrape unless i do a really angled entry which is hard on a busy street. Also right now my tires are rubbing on the quarter panel and need to get it rolled.

I cut all 4 tanabe springs on my GS and they rode better than my friends GS who had the same springs but werent cut...

But only cut a dead coil if you cut anything.

changing the springs alone to lower the car usually never gives good results, mind as well keep the stock springs.

the only way to get a really good, quality drop is to go coilovers or air.

If you really want to cut em why not cut your stockies and at least get back some of the money you spent by selling your new ones.

He got them for a for less then 1/3rd of their retail plus they were practicially new so you cant hate on his decision especially since options for the F50 are really limited (stateside atleast). He said he is eventually getting air so why have him cut the springs?

I say dont cut them. Try to get used to driving alittle lower (althought its not much) then After you get air, sell them on Nico and get your money back. Not the answer most will like to hear on this forum or expect from me but im being honest and not just cause I sold you the springs lol

LOL...it's not progressive i think. The springs are uniform from top to bottom. There isn't any coils wound closer together in any point. There really isn't a dead coil on these springs. They just start coiling down from the ends. However this is when they are out of the strut and uncompressed. When it is compressed and installed on the strut the top and bottom is wound abit closer to each other.
