Suggestions for my Acura CL? (yes I know, sooo not bippu lol)

I absolutely love this forum. and even though I have an Acura CL, a lot of my style choices have been influenced by the vip culture and how classy it makes a car look.

I was just curious, if you guys have any suggestions for my coupe, or what I can do to make it look more streamlined/refined. Currently it has the stock gold package, including full grill, rear emblems, and tail pipes (all of which haven't faded and are in like-new condition). A part of me wants to keep the gold and do something different, since it matches the rivets and center caps on my rims....but another part of me says 'explore.'

Front and rear lip kit are soon to come, but I'm also looking for any more ideas. Thanks again

Even though you don't have a true VIP platform, I think you're off to a decent start.. the CL's in my eyes are a very good looking car. I'm not so much for the gold on black look but the car looks extremely clean. I definately think if you can find a clean looking lip kit it might set the car off just right.

i say you bag it and slam it to the ground. the car already looks clean. a conservative lip kit wouldn't hurt either.

I say get rid of the gold emblems and grill cuz it clashes with the wheels, and maybe a more aggressive offset would do you nicely, youre definitely off to a great start tho, lookin cleeeaaann

As the others stated, the car looks good overall, but the wheels are holding you back from that VIP look..

clean car. i'd say clear bumper lights first (the orange and gold clash). maybe black out the line in the grill to reduce the gold up front. wingless, "a" emblem only in the back. and definitely slam that b***h. not a great pic since i'm used to ps and using something else for now:

are the accord lips a direct fit on these? my friend got stuck with a nasty body kit cause they said there weren't any other ones available.

i like the gold, yup what these guys are sayin is good, slam, new wheels or spacers, camber, and MAYBE a lip kit. just slam camber and spacers would look sick already.

Thanks for the suggestions guys!

I am going to keep the rims, at least for now, as I just got them only about a month ago. They are 18x8 +27 up front and 18x9 +35 rear, which, for a fwd CL, is pretty damn aggressive. I'll just run a 10mm spacer up front and camber it out a bit and it'll look super flush. The rear I'm not messing with, as it's already more than -3 camber and JUST fits perfectly without rolling the rears.

I removed the 'acura' and '3.0CL' badges from the rear, and it looks much cleaner. However, I'm hoping it's not 'paint bubbling' I see around some of the edges of where the emblems used to sit, but I'll have to hit it up with some real good mild rubbing compound and see.

The front: I like your idea about the ps'd grill, however, I'm going to take that a step further and black out the outline and the center bar and JUST leave the gold A. It'll match the rear perfectly. TSX retro should be completed by next week, leaving the chrome housing in-tact. Maybe run a very very skinny custom eyelid setup as well

And thanks for the idea on the lip kit. I'm going to go with the WW front lip (unfortunately we're really limited to only like 2 front lips)...leave the stock skirts (since they're level with aftermarket front and rears) and get a 94/95 accord rear lip.

UCF: got any direct-on rear shots of your 94/95 accord lip? How much modification was required to get it to fit? Just looking for ideas.

Once the lips are on, I'm not going to slam it any further, as it already is pushing the limits of daily drivability. It is tucked a half finger up front and completely flush out back, and that's good enough for me.

hey bro, one more option: what about a chome oem grill with the gold "a". that would definitely set off your polished/gold wheels. just an afterthought.

Nice ride!

I like the spoiler, that gen CL looks odd with no spoiler. A friend had a slammed silver one.

I agree the gold clashes so go chrome and black out the center bar in the grill. Air suspension to slam it :)

the things said are good bro.

adding to them:

take off the back spoiler and try and find a wing that doesnt have a gap between car and spoiler. it seems to be losing depth there and the whole flowing look.

get a single oval exhaust
Forum image
like this one its quite a large tip out i think 5.5inch but you could go for something a bit more subtle say 3.5inch or 4inch. the exhaust on it atm is classic honda/acura with the chrome cover over the muffler. i think it needs to go.

definately clear lights are the way to go in the lower front!

put on some black tints to make it a bit darker and vip styled

more camber will help alot

hope this is of use to ya boy
