Being low is awesome. And it sucks.
Last night I had 5 friends in my car, and I was scraping everywhere like crazy, I thought it was hilarious, but my friends were freaking out, they hated the ride.
What do you guys' friends think of your lowered cars?
For me it's totally worth it when I look at my car, but to be honest I really hated daily driving on 17s, even though I'm fully ready to do it again next spring.

I was flat out insulted when i first installed my coilovers, I couldnt believe a lexus could ride that bad. Its been over a year now and the ride has definetly softened up and now I think its acceptable since the trade off is much more aggressive handling.
As for my friends... not a single negative comment, theres the few who just dont understand the logic behind lowering but its okay because some people just dont enjoy cars as a hobby. not even a complaint about the ride, and the ladies love it too  tell your friends to grow up lowering is cool! you just popped thier cherries thats all.

My girlfriend hated how low my car was, until she rode in it. I swear I had the Tein FLEX running almost as soft as stock. Maybe not as boatish, but it still rode really smooth to where she couldn't tell that it was lowered when she rode in it. It's all in how you set up the damping, something lower end model coilovers can't do.

My GTI was full track spec so there was no comfort involved. My Lexus was super comfortable and low, never had a single complaint on that car, even my 50-60 year old clients I toted around loved it to death.

I do tend to like the more stiff and sporty side of a suspension.
The soft comfy one tends to get boring on me and pisses me off when i hit corners.
And my friends dont seem to mind, their used to riding full out track coilovers.

im on stock as of now. :(
on my prior rides ive had cut, lowered springs, blocks, and coilovers on all sorts off vehicle.
with bodykit, wheel setup and lowered ride with coilovers on my previous ride, its always been a trade off of "pay to play"
i would like to go air, yet i dont want a slush ride, or being far off from home, and having issues on the road. i like the coilovers due to adjustments available to it, yet having to deal with driveways, speed bump and passengers can be an issue too.
oh the dilema . . . . .

ive never had a vip car but i did have an air setup on my honda accord back in 98' when it was still cool to have a full body kit and etc. i used to live in queens and at every light someone would stop me and ask wtf is wrong with my driving around ny. plus my plates read got air, and when they asked id have to show them. it was a fast setup prett barbaric back then compared to the kits now. but i would be able to drive down northern blvd dog tailing the rear wheel and people would do the double take.

I've noticed that my Max rides a bit better with a lil weight in the back. I've had 1 15" Sub, 50lb+ tool box, heads and block of a VQ30DE along with 2 intake manifolds in my trunk and no difference in ride height. All depends on suspension set-up.

I'm running on 8k front and 6k rear on my Sentra... it rubs like crazy with anything riding on the backseat! lol

My non-car friends think the same lol (Well Technically 3 1/2 inches), My roomate makes fun of my car because I have to angle over speed bumps and through driveway dips, n he goes on to make fun of my stiff ride since he drives a "smooth riding" 06' Maxima (actually, i have to admit, its pretty nice lol) But, all my other homies dig it. Oh, and anyone who weighs over 130 gets front seat (which means my gf often loses shotgun privelges since she only weighs 100 lbs =P) If you're over 150...then sorry you're walking..haha, Oh how i love driving a slammed car!

i have to be lowered. does not matter wich type of car it is or how often i drive it. but after driving my gs on coils with the subframe 1.5 off the ground all summer and commuting 25 miles per day through boston, bubbling/blowing out 2 sets of tires, smashing my carbing underbrace into my exhaust, and hitting my head on the roof multiple times, and all of of this happening in a 3 month period, and being pulled over multiple times for my car being to low,
:truestory: :hsughcool: :dunno:
I, for the first time, i have decided to purchase a cheap economical vehicle(which is moderatly lowered) to drive all day because the cost of being a hardcore enthusiast in one summer added up to the price of a car. The idea just made logical sense to me. i am not the kind of person that complains about ride quality or scraping. just driving that much, that low, with such an expensive car wich already has 180K on the odometer does not make sense anymore. so the beast has retired from daily driving punishment:slap:
my rule of thumb is If it makes financial and logical sense to do so, SLAM THAT SHIT!!!:signdammit: and drive it like ya stole it. especially when people dont understand why/how you do what you do. and deal with the reprocussions later. If all the drawbacks of driving low bother you than it is not 4 you!:3gears:
Much respect

Um, not for nothing, but it's a 5 passenger car. A Civic hatchback is technically a 5-passenger car. There are plenty of small cars that can fit 5 passengers. It might be a little cramped, but it's really not that big of a deal.

Haha, it was definitely a clown car. It's because we'll go to the bar and nobody wants to DD, and we'll meet another friend there or something, so we'll end up stuffed in one car. Worst was the time we fit 5 people in my friend's Saturn coupe.
Anyhow, re: pics or ban;

Sorry, it was 1am and the windows fogged because it's cold. You'll have to take my word for it based on ride height. Who needs air suspension when you have friends!?
The last thing I need is higher spring rates though, lol
On some streets if feels like I'm sitting on a trampoline :(
