Another EVO owner switching tastes

I am John Bradley, own an 06 EVO, and am currently looking for a either an SC300 or 2nd gen GS300. I want a more comfortable car than a supra but still want a 2JZ to play with.

If you want to be comfortable, and want a 2jz (preferrably GTE lol) then go with a first gen gs300. It's a lot easier to swap the motor than on a 2nd gen, due to problems with vvti, and there's more to it than that. Not many have done it, most who have, in the second gen, spend quite a bit to get it done.

With a first gen, you don't have to worry about about a lot of the problems that you would have to worry about with the second gen. Check it out. You can make a pretty mean looking first gen too, just look at rene's in the 'article' section.

If you wish to have the second gen, along with a 2jz turbo'd car, you can always just piece together a turbo, and run an aem EMS system on it. That would probably be cheaper than a complete swap, and still put out pretty good numbers.

Thanks for the advice but I live near ETS (Extreme Turbo Systems) & RREV motorsports (8 second supras), know all of them, are on a couple of the same boards as them, and have done my research. My current plan is the VVT-i head on a built block with an AEM on E85. Of the LS400 and GS300's I have been in the 2nd gen GS not only has the look I want but felt the best. I am a mechanic/alignment tech by trade so I sit in lots of cars over the course of the day.

Also thanks for the welcome....anyone want to buy a low 11 second Evo?
