I maybe picking up a set of wald rims 9.5F 10.5R and currently have 225/40/19's and 245/40/19's sitting on the side. Do you guys think it will be to fat of a sidewall or can I get away with it?
i actually like taller tires. depends on the car, stance, and fitment
245/40 would be pretty butch.
what i do, if i want to go to 40 if you have a 235/35 fitment of a 225/40 will be the same (noramlly) just go down one width when you go to a 40 series
I personally like thinner tires on 19's or bigger.

ITs a matter of personal prefference...I think for the True VIP look smaller stretched tires are a must...however I do notice folks that run 40 series tires are usually on 18's with a nice wide wheel 11-12 but once again its just personal preference.....
well, in all realisticness the profile of a 225/40 and a 235/35 are damn near identical. but the 235 you get more tire outta the deal

it may be near identical on paper but what about when you see it in person...the 225/40 looks a lot meatier than the 235/35 from what i've seen...

I ran a 235/35/19 on a 11.5' and a 225/40/18 on a 11' and the 225/40/18 looks alot meatier then the 19' wheel. The half inch difference and different tire brand may have played a big role in that though
yeah, it plays a HUGE difference liek zions 10.5 looks like my 10j with the same tire. its weird how things arent uniform yet
the bead of the wheel plays a roll too...my zaubers had a heavy bead line on one side and a very faint one on the other...the wheel looked half stretched...i don't know, it was weird...lexbubba saw it and we were baffled...

also depends on the brand and line of the tire. a falken fk has a bigger side wall compared to a falken anzenis.
