Learn me up on my options

Hello,

My name is Alexi, I hail from Rhode Island. I've been diggin the VIP scene for a few years but never had the drive to buy a large luxury car Untill now. I am a VW guy for sure, Have a golf I just got all set up. But the GTI I am driving now has gotta go, Not nearly big enough. Can some one help me with some ideas Car related. My spending limmit is under 30K But car must be reliable and half way decent on gas. I am not looking for a fast car, just a cruiser.

Any help would be happly recived,  and for good mesure my golf.

i think all the platform cars are considered reliable since they are nissan/toyota. i think the hottest s**t out is the y34, for gas milage i would consider a gs since they have a 6 cylinder engine.

whats a y34 over here? I am pretty clueless, Would like to get some other opinions too. :shrug:

The Y33(Q45) is popular and is a great looking platform. I also like the 03' M45(y34), not too many ppl rock those yet but, they have serious potential! You can also come strong w/ Lexus LS models 90' on up! As far as gas gos, depending on your driving habits my gs300 cost nearly $180 per mth on average driving FYI. w/o engine mods. Gl w/ your buying. BTW it's not a bad idea to stay within the Nissan(Infiniti)/Toyota(Lexus) camp RWD platforms.:shrug:

y34 is an 03-04 m45, augdoog you're thinking of a y33.

Welcome, (from a former air cooled fan)  Now that I've got that out of the way, All VIP platforms have pros and cons.  None of them get really good gas mileage since your most popular at least here stateside, are usually big sixes and V8s.  Mainly, the LS, GS offerings from Lexus, and the G50 (early body style Q) Y33, (97-01 Q) Y34 (Infiniti Mseries after 2003 I believe) and F50 (last Gen Q)

You do have some options with less popular platforms like the big acuras and the Mazda 929 but again if you wanna do VIP they it's definitely a plus to start with one of the traditional platforms. Parts are easier to come by, and this site truly is a valuable resource for VIP styling and even a little culture.  

Price also should play a role in your decision.  Getting into an LS may cost you more money, but your suspension options with the LS are a little better.  the Y33s are very affordable but they have weird suspension up front so your options on achieving the VIP stance (and stance is a pretty big part of this style) is a little harder.

Do your research and definitely read this site as a resource.  You'll learn alot and probably will even find a car here that'll help you make the decision on what to pick up.
