For those using UAS Cylinders

My inquiry is about the ride quality and the exact setup you are using.  Are you using accumulators to increase the ride quality.  I own a 97-04 Acura RL and unless I use an Air Runner setup, which is rediculously expensive and the only "bag" kit I have been able to find, I will be using cylinders.  I am just worried about ride quality, it is very important to me.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Are you saying that the UAS setup comes with accumulators?

because they're rubber 'bags'. I use them over stock GS300 socks with a standard setup.
 
Cylinders have no 'give' and will ride stiff if they dont have accumulators.

Ok, I know that the bag setup would be the best for my application but UAS only makes cylinders due to fitment issues due to the size of the bags.  My only bag option is Air Runner and in my opinion, $4200 is very pricey.

Anyone out here actually have experience with UAS Cylinders?

do your due dilligence before u choose.

the more research I do, it seems like the only people who are happy with their air set up's are the ones who run AIR-RUNNER integrated kits.

this gives me more confidence with my decision to go with Air-Runner.

The issues that turn me off from Air Runner are the price and no US support for the product really.  There are a few importers but I can't just call up Air Runner and speak to the people that make the kits.  I have spoken to UAS on a few occasions and they are great with customer service and are more than willing to help me with any of my questions regarding my setup and install if I use their products.  To me that speaks very loudly for the company.

I do appreciate your input though.  Keep the opinions coming please.

yeah, UAS is great. I went with them because I liked the product and they got me custom welded parts in a day or two when I was close to my deadline for the build. :biggthumpup:
 
if they make it for your car, id roll with them. They respond to emails ASAP. My issue is that I HATE to wait for parts....no worries with them

I agree on the customer service for sure!  They definetly have that aspect of the business down!

I do appreciate your input though. Keep the opinions coming please.[/quote]Auto Fashion in San diego IS the US support. They can rebuilt the air struts and install the Air Runner system.  They know the system inside and out.  Infact thats the only air suspension they sell and install.

Ok, that solves one of my issues with Air Runner.  Now if the system didn't cost $4200

yeah it is pricey, but well worth the money.  when i was shopping around for a system for a while and i got lucky and got the airrunner on a group buy.  I would never change the system.   But in your case, since ride quality is very important just ride inside a airrunner car and you will find quality.  And im sure reliability is an issue since you have an acura, $4200 would be a very good price.

will air cylinders ride bad if no accumilators are used, but with shock absorbers still intact?

If you use cylinders the shock absorbers are removed.

I think the cylinders UAS sells are Parker, which is a good brand. I am also running cylinders on my TL due to the fact that UAS bag will not fit our cars. But you can run the easy street air strut bag which looks the same as Air runners for cheap and still good quality. I am planning on getting a set of those soon. Check with them and see if they make an application for your car.

take a look at the suspension guide here to gain an understanding.

i was wonering if the cylinders can be placed where my springs currently are.  i hear most bags are too big for my car.  my cars shocks and springs are seperate from each other (not a strut assembly).   i hope this helps to better understand my question.

Previas have the same style rear suspension setup, and you will have to weld the mounting points for you to be able to mount the bags.

Are you using accumulators as well?  How is the ride quality?  I will check into the easy street setup as well.  Thanks for the heads up.

I have been in contact with Easy Street and they don't feel that their Universal Struts will lift the front of the vehicle.  That's a little bit of a problem.  [B][COLOR="Red"]FixedTL[/COLOR][/B] have you had any communication with Easy Street regarding your setup?

Does accumulators  make a big differents? Where can i get them from?

I have been in contact with them and i am just waiting on their new mount for the honda Accord to come out before ordering. If you don't mind the price you can also check out ridetech their stuff is better but more pricey.
