tune up
I think its time to get my car tuned up. I have 91 LS 400 with 150K on the dash. I was thinking about upgrading my wires to either NGK or Nology hot wires, are either better than the stock wires? I'm not sure about spark plugs, i think the stock ones are NGK platinum. Is 89 octane good enough or should i use 91 octane. I don't want to use 91 and it burn out my O2.
oh, and has anyone else use Lucas additive in there oil in there Lexus? I've used it in my 4 bangers before, but in not sure it if should use in the my LS.

Yo Justin! I can't remember, but did you install any engine mods? If not I (which I haven't) would just go w/ org. Toyota parts. As far as your oil question, I don't use any additives, I just use synthetic and am considering switching from Mobil 1 to Royal Purple..

Mobil1, no additives needed. Use 91 octane, which is what is factory recommended so be smart and do that. Imo most aftermarket upgrades arent really necessary (these cars are very over engineered) and they were built to last. unless of course you plan on giving your first gen some more juice under the hood? In that case you need to ask yourself how much power you want to make and visit lextreme.com. The forums there are extremely informative.

Nology hotwires? Come on man...You will see minimal performance gains..close to nil. Just go with stock wires, and either stock spark plugs or the torque master spark plugs (it's all the rage on clubl lexus lol)
You need to dwelve into whether or not you need to change the timing belt and water pump yet or not.
Start changing out your transmission fluid with new toyota type IV, it takes about 2 minutes more of your time when doing an oil chnage. Just drain and fill the pan.
that's about all the tune up stuff you need to do. OH, top off your power steering, and check the air filter if it needs to be changed.
