Need some advice on wheel fitment
Hey guys its been a while since I have been on here. Last time I was on here I owned a Evo IX and was looking at picking up a M45 but ended up changing my mind last min and buying a BMW 335i sedan. I know the BMW isnt really VIP but the wheel set up Im trying to pull off is kind of in the VIP look and feel.
Heres the scoop:
I ordered up a set of DPE ST7 in 20x9 Front +25 Offset and 20x11 Rear +30 Offset.
To give you an idea I based the offsets off this car. Here are his specs:
front wheel
19x9 et 31
235 35 19 bridgestone
rear wheels
19x10.5 et 30
275 30 19 bridgestone
Now since some of you guys are the offset / tire stretching masters I thought I would come back for advice.
Here are my test fit pics ... they are shitty I know ...
When I put the wheel on the inner barrel hit the inside fender near the suspension. I got my 5mm spacers today to fix the issue. Tonight I will mount them on the car with the 5mm spacers and take some high quality test fit pics and post them up tomorrow.
Org I was going for this look:
I have a feeling my wheels set up is going to "poke" a lot more .... Im not a fan of huge "poke" as I think the set up on the E46 is PERFECT for my taste.
so here is where you guys come in ...
1) Do you think my current set up is too much "poke" in the rear ? should I send them back to DPE and step down to a 10.5 insted of the 11"?
2) tire sizes ... I was org planning on doing 235/30/20 Front and 285/25/20 Rear with Toyo T1-Rs as I have used those tires in the past and VW guys seem to love them for stretching. My friend at discount tire thinks I need to step down to a 265/30/20 for the rear ... and thoughts?

You're going to have to roll up your sleeves to get this one to work.
On our 3 sedan (E90) we're running
19x9.0 +32 235/35-19
19x10.0 +24 265/30-19
Car is slammed on H&R race springs.
Front fits fine, could even go out a bit but would hit the fender when turned
Rear rubs where the bumper bolts to the quarter panel. It doesn't rub hard
but it rubs over every little bump.
Your fronts are very similar so I don't forsee major issues here.
Your 20x11 +30 rear are already 6mm further outboard than our
19x10 +24 with a narrower tire. Plus, you've added a spacer.
You'll have a nightmare making that 285/25-20 fit - for some reason, tires
in this size seem to run pretty wide. It won't really stretch at all on a 10.5"
so you're probably just as well off to leave the offset more aggressive and
stretch the tire a little bit. If you shrink the width you can bring the offset
in a little (remove spacer) but the tire won't stretch as much so it's sort
of six of one or a half dozen of the other.
I think you should consider even going 235/30-20 front and 255/30-20
rear to make this happen.

Thanks for the reply!!
Im not having issues with the inside rubbing due to the tire size its the actual wheel barrel hits the inside (next to the shock) with the +30 offset. I got the 5mm spacers so the wheel will clear in turn now making my offset a 20x11 +25 relatively. I was looking only at T1Rs since they run small like the Falkens (I also heard Hankook runs small as well as a lot of Euro guys from actual Europe run them ... but who knows if their tires they get there are the same as the ones here).
I have a set of KWv3 coming for the car and ordered some camber plates for the front of the car. I was also looking at adjustable rear arms for the car so I could maximize camber and toe adjustment. What camber are your rears at now? how about toe? I was planning on setting toe to 0 since the factory settings have a little toe in and running -3 deg camber all around. If your rubbing in the rear where the bumper meets your quarter panel the toe may be your issue as the toe in is pushing the back out a bit.
I think I could make it work with the stock +30 but I think having to run the spacer is going to screw things up. :pat:
This set up is 19x10.5 +25 in the rear which is 1mm less then my +30 but 6mm less then what my set up will be with the spacers.

Dont want to sound mean, but if you liked the fitment of the first beemer, why didnt you just get the same size/offset as him? By wanting to go "one step further" you might have gone "one step too far"
Unless you want to bang out the inner fender with a hammer, or pull the fender for a duckbill look, i suggest sending the wheels back for a size down.

Oh no worries about sounding mean .... I bought the wheels before he had the set up wit the TE37s ... those IMO look really good and my set up would be just about that if they fit without the spacer. I wanted to push it and try some 11" widths as I thought it would look really mean from the back.
My friend told me of a body shop that uses a hydrolic pump to push out the fenders and re-paint the quarters. So maybe thats an option

Got some updates guys. I test fit the wheels with the 5mm spacer but kept the jack under the control arm to see what it what it will look like compressed.

Not as bad as I thought ... this is on stock suspension with stock camber and toe.
