a lil project.... build from the floor up
holy crap,...when you said BUCKET you meant it!
damn!!! you shoulda bought the one down here in SD for 1600. just needed engine work and quater panel fixed and driver seat leather replaced
you spelled cheap wrong. salvage title vip...
price, fix estimate, plans?
salvaged vip is right.... no problem though... its just a project, i mean who really bust out there paperwork and checks title?.... you guys just check out pictures of cars on here.... just thought i would change it up a little bit...... show you something from the grave that is reborn
i would be worried about insurance. maybe things are different where you are, but pumping vip money into a build and then not being able to insure it would be lame. i didn't even notice the rear was hit too. hope you know what you're doing. gl.
Wow! Big project if you're gonna have to weld in some quarters! I'm impressed by the bodymen who can pull shit like that off. Good luck!
all in a days work. i dont just buy parts....... i know how to make it happen. i'll keep you posted w/ pics along the way. framework is already done. not much bondo needed, shes still sheet metal. i have all the parts already, have about 5 other q's to sell parts. if any cali peeps need anything ive got it all...... nissan toyota etc.
good luck with the project!!!
Maybe if you guys took notice of his sig info...
Maybe if you guys took notice of his sig info...
what's a dismanter? Doesn't look to bad, more or less welding and replacement body parts but what about the frame?
Damicci;111599 wrote:what's a dismanter?
what's a dismanter?
Someone that takes apart cars to sell/put together a new one. Post up some pics!
"dismantler"... might still be spelled wrong. my main thing was the frame too, but he said he got it done.
dawg, why spend all that money to fix up a salvaged car, frame work, body work, etc, when you can buy a good condition q from like 7000-13000 depending on mileage

^ True, but its value is DEEPLY discounted even with major mods etc. Insurance will be an issue too. My girl does insurance for a living and I just had my s14.5 stolen so I know how little a bad title is now worth. Not worth my time, $$, or efforts, but maybe for you. As for a project and the fun factor....Good Luck, could be a great project.
Yos I hope you got it for a good deal, because it's going to cost you serious time and effort to bring that back to life. GL
no worry, the rear is already flared out for the VIP action
augdogg;111711 wrote:Yos I hope you got it for free, because it's going to cost you serious time and effort to bring that back to life. Time + Effort = $$$! Idea: $$$ + Non-POS = Save time and effort!

a little here little there... a little bondo never hurt.... lt 1/4 from a 97... used the light just for the body work. just needs some paint and put back together.
That's the difference between a builder and an buyer.
Or a Baller and Builder.....BTW I wasn't tryin to bash your purchase cuz of the respect I have when work is put into a project. I like watching stuff come back to life!
all the people here with crazy ass names...... and your worried about the way i spelled cheap?
not worried about it at all. interested to see how this turns out. i can see you're a cocky li'l fella so i just won't say anything else until its done. but just for the record there are things to say.
damn this is gonna be an interesting build...lets see it bro. already wow'd me with some new quarterpanels. keep up the good work.
Good lord what an improvement!! Must be nice to be able to do the work yourself. Keep it up cant wait to see it painted.
if you're doing all that work already, why not get some suspension and wide wheels and flare the quarters a little/maybe a kit?
cvc9216;115533 wrote:if you're doing all that work already, why not get some suspension and wide wheels and flare the quarters a little/maybe a kit?
if you're doing all that work already, why not get some suspension and wide wheels and flare the quarters a little/maybe a kit?
That was my gurss as well! Might as well do a widebody! or extend the quater panels! I would.......
Its great to see the car fixed... Working at a Junkyard has its perks. Great job!

i woulda left it the way it was, hung a fusa on the rearview, and just tow it to the shows..... according to some since it's platform that already means it's VIP yo!!! :smiley-rofl: but seriously man.... you already got my vote for skills and build of the year... much respect man!

Just take out the dampers and springs for maximum drop! Seriously though, I'm with this guy - I'm really impressed by builds like these. I'd get a kick out of it even it you were just making it stock. Not that you should:dance:
whats the plans for this car?
well.... get it registered and plates...... and then just bring the painting in my head to life....... gotta give props to pancakes though..... wheelz !!!! damn gotta go with another wheel choice now.
you gonna do air???
Good job. I dont have the time, money or experience to do a job like that, so I commend you on your efforts. Now that you have it in close to stock form, let the modding begin.
cant wait to see it finished.
this job is minor guys...see it all the time even those flip over and they buy the car just for the papers. but i hate to work on those cars put back together by bodyshops with missing clips, liners, mismatch screws and lots of scratches on interior panels....
