I am playing with a few ideas in my head here and I'm wondering if there are any good examples of art or paintings that are inspired by or influenced by the VIP style?

Excellent car artork zion, but I'm trying to find or create VIP inspired art of a different sort. I'm thinking about floral arrangements, scenes, and landscapes that are VIP inspired.
Here are a few of mine that I have on CafePress. Haven't sold a single one and they've been up a year lol, but I think they look cool. Stupid CafePress, I can't get the jpeg address for the decent sized pics, so just look at the link [URL="http://www.cafepress.com/luxurysports"]here[/URL] if you're interested. It's mostly fast cars and hot-rods, but there are 3 VIP styled cars on there too. I draw them in Illustrator by hand with my Wacom pen tool, no LiveTrace. Um...HOW are you going to make something that's inspired by vip? Only ralph lauren does this (inspired by cars) and that dude is crazy about what he does. The only thing you can make that's inspired by vip (in a ralph lauren way) are clothes for low and wide people. which means small fat people. Good luck.

If you are in an art and/or photography class and you assignment is "Reflections" you could interperate this in many ways. You could take a pic of someone reflecting or looking within themselves. Or you could simply paint something reflected in something else. I am simply asking for input or examples or artwork or photography that might in some way "say" VIP or VIP style. Save the smartass remarks for when I start a thread asking for those.
Um, it's a car culture pal. There's nothing you can associate with it, unless it has to do with cars. NOW, had you taken something that inspired you to build your vip car in a certain way (check december's vip mag dvd) then that's a different story. You can't take cars, and build around them the rest of your life. You CAN take life, and put it in your car. The building of the car is an art in itself.

I don't know. Maybe some cool Tokyo cityscapes or urban shots. Some floral arrangements made from Asian flowers. Hell even some sort of suit fabric. Hell, even dragons or exotic fish or something. My point is this artwork doesn't have to actually BE VIP, it just has to be something that might go with VIP. Kinda like peanut butter and jelly. VIP is a higher class of car, I am merely asking for onput on a higher form of art that you may be able to "see" some VIP in. Yes VIP is a car culture, but many car cultures come from ideals attained elswhere.
i can dig what you are talking about, but i haven't seen anything like that. some elegant and simple still life photography with a high class tough. i think about this kind of stuff some times even though i don't do anything like this. but i think you're trying to link 2 things together that don't have anything to do with each other. the link would be class and style not vip cars. feel me? that toe shit was hilarious.
I'm with the maxima guru. It's a car culture, not an art culture. You can put some stuff in your car to make it more artistic, or say a paint job that reflects how you feel about a certain aspect of it...but that's about it. What kind of car do you drive? How does it inspire you to be artistic with it?
I drive an xB. I see suede headliners and leather interiors done up really nice in these cars, but I'm looking to push the envolope. I'm thinking in the realms of painting an Asian floral arrangement, an urban Tokyo cityscape, or even like a street map of Tokyo on my engine cover, covering my A, B and C pillars with like a pinstripe suit fabric or something else that screams high class. Maybe I was mistaken in asking for examples of VIP art. What I am really in search of is art that would fit the same tastes as the tastes required to style VIP cars.
To me, in my opinion, that doesn't scream VIP, that screams jdm ricer. (don't take it hard). Something VIP is something that screams MONEY to me. Something that people look at, and go "Damn." Not just the fanboys, but EVERYONE who sees the car, sees it as something that's just balling.
I like landscapes, because they're low & wide. :smiley: Honestly though, I don't really associate art with any one particular car style. I like all sorts of stuff in all sorts of media. And I don't think I'm alone on this one. edit: if I was on an unrelated tangent, sorry. If you're looking for art to put on a Vip styled project... I dunno. I've seen a wild Vip car painted yellow with a blue underwater scene mural on it. I'm not a fan of airbrushing, personally, but I think a subtle design à la [url=http://www.audrey-kawasaki.com/2007/]Audrey Kawasaki[/url] on my 240's valve cover would be sweet. Not Vip or anything, but definitely awesome. But you can't have that idea, I like it too much! haha:laugh: Srsly, I'm not joking:thelaw:

I would do this subtle, kinda like ghost flames on a hot rod, it's there, but it's not slap you on the face there. I want the double take reaction. Example. You see a car with a black suede headliner, but then you double take when you see an intricate pattern ever so slightly pressed into the fabric. I understand that you guys can see this idea comming across as tacky or "Pimp my ride" but there are ways to pull this off without going overboard and I intend to figure out how.
Hard to pull of what you are saying, as it will cost money to get it done right.
