... anyone know if these tires have the same stretch? these tires run from $80-$120!!!

what size rim and tires? I bought my General UHP's (235/35/19) for 126 a tire from tirerack.com

ive been wondering the same subject myself after i had to throw away 3 brand new falken azenis st115 with less than 5 miles. ive been hearing a lot of general tires and their stretch characteristics are pretty good.
azenis st115 compared to fk452 215/35/19.
azenis had a lot more stretch compared to fks
as for others. ?

federals are great and good on the wallet

it's not stretch characteristics, a lot of older tires were sized smaller.

all u this is this, very simple.....get a small narrower size!  so if 245 stretched on 10J is not enough, guess what ? get 235!

joel's tires priced me a pair of 235/35/19 and a pair of 245/35/19s NANKANG's for $400 out the door!! i might just pick them up unless i find some cheaper tires out of those you guys mentioned

NS2s are cheap, but they dont last long and are noisy as hell. Federals are noisy as shit too, and run wider then most, but have good traction. My rear federals have grown stress cracks where its stretched and a bulge. Id just get the NS2s, they really dont get cheaper then that. Im getting them when i put my 19s back on.

No not really. Sidewall and bead design do play a part in the way a tire stretches. Its not just the amount of stretch its the dimension and shape of the sidewall. Going a size smaller isnt always an option either. If youre running 215/35/19 how you gonna go narrower when there isnt a 205/35/19 made. Also some brands only make specific sizes so there goes that point.:shrug:

Yeah nankangs rock.  they last pretty long.  And priced resonably. Watch out for joels thou.  They will hit you up with carry out charge then next thing you know its 460 out the door.  there kind of shady there. lol.

HAHAHA, i know exactly what youre talking about. They tried the same shit on me. I ended up just giving them 5 bucks more then the actually price of the tires and telling them thats all I had. Shady mofos.:smiley-rofl:

At my DD height my Kangs last about 4-5 months! :shrug:

PANCAKES,,,,,,,,,is that with or without a flip....I just had to flip my 451's they had about 60-70% tread I thought and it was only 1 month ago....but they were used so cant really complain...
 
if any of you guys are running lots of camber then the cheaper the tire the better...but becarefull of to cheap becuase you will pop your beeds and they may run out faster....also look into non zr tires...I have seen some that are not zr rated...they would last longer..and I really dont care about the noise cause I have my tunes on most of the time....I look for a combo of ..quality strech,performance, tread pattern and price..

I tested the Hankook and Nangank and I like both of them. They both stretch in a nice shape and both last a pretty good amount of time. The Nangank's run smaller then most tires and the Hankook's run true to size. I just picked up a Nexen so im going to stretch the life out of it and test it out for a decent amount of miles before I can judge it.

What are your specs for toe? -4 camber 1/4toe in, inner wear is minimal on my rear. Ive been through 2 sets of fronts cause the toe is jacked up and im only running about -2.5 at ride height. So, camber might not be your problem. ZR is a speed rating. What you need to look for is treadwear ratings.

yeah but zr tires are softer rubber....I need y rated..my toe is fine front and back...allignmnet is fine..camber is my only problem..usually when toe is off you get a wiered looking pattern on the tires...my tread wear is nice and smooth...plus you get about -5 degrees adjustment with the stock camber adjustments and more when your slammed..I am probably close to -6 or more with my set up in the rear and the front - 3- -4  up front..JIC sais you get about -2.5 degrees adjustments with there camber plates...

Uh no. Who says you need 7 or 8j to run 205s. Hardcore fools can run 205s on 9j or conservative on a 8.5j. Just cause you havent done it doesnt mean it cant be done. Dont gotta get mad cause youre wrong.:innoutrofl2:

I don't run stretch or mad camber like some of you guys, but I had Nankang NSII prior to the General Exclaim UHP's I have now.  I liked the Nankanags, they were good tires, balanced well (only notice this above 80-85 really, but it was smooth even at 110).  I really like the Generals but they're more expensive, at least in 245 & 275 sizes (which is what I saw on 90% of VIP cars I saw in Japan that I could go up and check out).  General is owned by Continental, and I believe they're OE on some Audi's, but could be wrong on the Audi part, but I saw a new Audi the other day with stock wheels and Generals, so I doubt they switched tires on a new car.....

My General's are exactly 2 years old and still look good, I have about 2.5 neg camber in rear and about 2 in front IIRC.  I think if I was changing tires every 6 months my wife would leave me :smiley-rofl:

I'll run ST115 as long as I can find them.  I am waiting on a pair of ST115 215/35/19 to arrive from a local seller.  Small sizing compared to other tires, great tread life and very quiet.

Nankang or Federal are next on my list.  Looks like Federal and FK452 sizing and stretch characteriistics are simliar.  Don't forget about Kumho SPT!  Also wide but so cheap!  Dominik had those.

do they not make a 7J to 8J wheel width? last i checked just about every wheel manufacturer makes smaller widths.

Nankang is good if you wanna stretch. Even without rims installed, the shape of it is already a bit stretched.

Haha, I already posted my reply on the OPs subject, which was how cheaper tires stretched in comparison to each other. You totally missed that point because you contributed nothing to the subject, and said different tires dont have characteristics based on stretch which they do, because the OP and charley240sx wouldnt be asking if it didnt. I usually dont mind know it all attitudes when the person actually knows what theyre talking about.:shrug::dance:

I dont see anyone else not agreeing with my statement besides you. Even widebody Q commented on different shapes of sidewall which has nothing to do with width. Compare an st115 to a NS2, stretches the same but the shape of both is different, with st115 being more rounded, and ns2 with more of an inward slope. This has nothing to do with width. Yes, there are variations in width, but thats not only it, especially to an extreme.

Hankook Ventus Sport k104, 245 on a 19x10.  i really like the smooth non-grip bead.

oh and if you do go with the ventus, make sure its the 104. 105's dont stretch as nice.

i still roll federals.

They look better than my Nankangs, maybe I'll try those next!
