any company that does business with credit cards. Some dont have websites. I hate giving personal info out over the phone....then waiting to see my statement to see if they added a few bucks to the total :smiley-rofl:
Credit card company. I've had customers give me their CC # for a deposit when they order parts over the phone. When I was an operator, they had to tell it to me to pay with a credit card.
all the companies I ordered my parts from.

Its funny so many people are scared to put their CC numbers on the net, but are quite happy to call it out over the phone in the middle of their crowded office. Even in your home it is so much easier to hack someones phoneline than it is to hack a secure website...
I only do so with companies I know and trust.
You can never really trust anybody, especially some stranger on the other end of the line. They might work for a legit company but each individual is different, you know? I registered for an exam and had to give my cc # to her. I swear i had a long pause before i read it to her LOL I bet they get that often. For those of you who do ask for cc #s, do you get asked if there are other alternatives?? What about giving someone your SS number???
I only do so with companies I know and trust.
x2 The only time I've given my cc # over the phone is to well known performance parts companies. Other than that I'll do it online only with a secure website.
. I swear i had a long pause before i read it to her LOL I bet they get that often. I've had some people throw fits about their privacy etc, or just hang up, or all sorts of reactions. "YOU WANT ME TO GIVE YOU MY CREDIT CARD NUMBER?!" "You're paying via credit card right?" "Well, yeah, but I thought I could just ..'kay" Some were really paranoid about their security codes as well (which I understand, though to be honest, I wouldn't need it to charge someone's credit card ;) ) I can't really blame them, I was a total stranger to them, over the phone.
