that's awesome but I hope the seller will be wlling to ship internationally, do transaction in English, and accept paypal.  Paypal in Japan was a PITA and charge handling fees like none other (at least they did back in like 2001 lol).

Thats cool as hell for all those hard to find items, but it doesnt mean the end user would do business with the US. Paypal is fine , I ordered something from Japan a couple of weeks ago and no problems and received the item in 3 days. Stuff you order from the US sometimes takes longer.

The jdm fad will blow up even more now.

I dont think itll be crazy.   Like said above, a lot wont ship international still, wont speak english, and wont accept paypal.     I just use bidschoice, and will continually.   The ONLY thing I see benefiting me, is that there may be more shipping going back and forth between states and Japan, meaning they can cut a bit of the shipping more.

what shipping method do you guys use?  air? sea?  EMS?  SAL?

I use EMS.
 
Like the others said, the seller will need to agree to post stuff overseas. Even people *I* know over there are hesitant to send stuff overseas... Seems like it is a bit of a hassle or something.
 
Either way it will be the same as the checkbox that says "will ship internationally". Its unchecked by default, but i have seen a very small number of auctions that will ship internationally. No doubt this will be the same setup - they will need to select "please display this auction on Ebay USA". Given most Japanese people's nervousness about english conversation, this is option will likely be even less popular than the overseas shipment option...

Yea I use EMS for anything I can.  I have to freight some things, but otherwise it's always EMS for me.   Quicker and cheaper than a lot of the options.

maybe I should start my own side business.  "will buy stuff off Yahoo Auction for you for xx dollars!" lol.  

and why is EMS sometimes (a lot of the times?) cheaper than other options?  It's the quickest and most reliable yet cheapest...

This might actually be bad for a while.  People in the states will go on a spending spree and the cost of commonly found parts over there will sky rocket.  I hope not.

and yeah, I never understood why EMS is cheaper than SAL sometimes...I had to triple ask the guy at the post office when I sent stuff from Japan.
