Cell Phone gurus...

Ok, i know we have some geeks that get new cell phones every other week. I am using Cingular currently, and want to get a new phone, but refuse to pay retail prices for one ( i really like my service, there for I don't want to change my plan). If i buy a SIM card compatible phone from say ebay, do I just need to drop my sim card in and it will work?

only if the phone is unlocked OR if the phone is from cingular it will work

Many people dont know this but Cingular/AT&T is an unlocked network.  you can use Tmobilephones with them :biggthumpup:

Windows mobile sucks, have fun with it locking up Em..

LoL!! I havent had a problem with WM6 yet. I've been using them a lot to see if they're sumthing I wanna live with over the next year or so....so far,so good.

Well...I had WM5, and it was fine, but later on, my phone starts locking up for no reason. It's the operating system too. Just a word of warning.

I have a palm treo 700wx and the windows mobile does not work very well at all...I browse the internet on the phone becuase it works so bad....
 
You should be able to use any phone that is unlocked by just dropping in the sim card...thats whats stores all your user info...

i am looking at nokia n82, that is sweet device. or 8600 luna, that's pure sex, even though not practical. 
 
you want gsm phone (preferably quad or the one that has 850mhz) unlocked or cingular and after that is just choice of what you want your phone to be.

I like how ebay is selling the Iphone for 399 @ applestore but people are steal trying to sell it for like 500.

So At&t phones can use any other simcard? Or is that incorrect.
