00 Jag Xj8 wheel fitment

anybody have an idea on wheels/offsets for the jag Xj8? I'm just interested in whats possible because I sorta have the chance to pick up an xj8

If you buy it then you measure it. There's no magic numbers and the wheel offsets shouldn't be a  determining factor on whether you buy a car or not.  It's an X308 which is nearly identical to the X300 in many ways.  You can get a decent amount of dish out of it if that's what your concern is, but if dish is what you're after..buy a different car.

I have a friend who wants to buy my q but money talks so that is the primary factor
 However, the jag worries me a bit reliability wise but atleast its not one of the nikasil cars

There's a difference in suspension is why I say that.  You'd have to ask one of the X308 people on jaglovers...problem with that is..there are none who appreciate proper wheel fitment and all you'd get is weak numbers from people who don't know.  I'm totally not trying to discourage you..the more the merrier.  I just don't want you to buy it purely for having lower offset wheels...buy a big body Nissan (Infinity) if you want that.

As far as reliability, it's not too big of a deal since your car will basically be a Ford 4.0L V8.  I have one of the last Coventry built XJ's but with the 4.0L inline 6 which was one of their most reliable engines to date.  Only certain years and engines/electronics were problematic.
