daymm those look pretty sick.  ive seen one on youtube with air suspension. they were able to lower and lift there scooter.

i cannot stand those!  I call them monster mopeds and it's all the rage amongst the teen-early 20s in Japan...  and they put THE MOST obnoxious exhaust and weave in/out of traffic.  

the work done on some of them are VERY impressive though.  air ride, turbo, etc.

PS:  its a genre called ビッグスクーター(big scooter).  i dont think they call themselves VIP scooter though.

Mods and mopeds been done, i see alot of them in vietnam. Even heard they throw street races there where abunch of scooters meet up at night ect, but never witnessed it.

But ive never seen anything modded to this extreme the japanese are doing.

couldn;t have put it better myself. they are crazy drivers. like Boso on scotters. I noticed the ATV's are getting popular now.

I actually seriouslly thought about getting an ATV in Japan since its street legal!  Probably the perfect solution considering the traffic there.

It may be kind of a cliched sterotype, but the Japanese always seem to be innovating and doing some weird stuff that we don't think of on this continent!

Man, when i was in vietnam i wansn't so sure about these scooters but they are the most relaxing thing ever. Especially when your out cruising at night with the nice cool air.


I remember my cousin mentioning about the street races and how he got into a accident. They were racing and the part of this guys bike flew out and it hit my cousins bike and he crashed. We also tried to go find some races at night but we couldn't find anything. But some of his friends had fixed up bikes not extreme as the japanese though. It reminded me of the bosozuku, we were cruising on a 3-lane and we were lined up parallel and we were cruising all slow and they kept revving their engines. Good times
