which do you guys like better, H and R drop springs or the Tanabe drop springs? i have a 90 ls 400 and im going to do the drop right after christmas with my tax returns. any input or opinions?

Neither. I wouldnt do it because you arent gonna get enough drop to pull off vip stance. Id go with whatevers lower at least. Im sure clublexus would probably be easier for answers cause IIRC not many ucf1x owners on here run springs.

I hear the Euro guys use or used H&R because they made some extreme drop springs (almost undriveable apparently).

But I doubt that any spring alone for your application will get you very low.

I don't know about the HnR drop springs, but the Tanabe DF210 drop almost 2.5 inches, and depending on waht size rims you have, will 'look' low enough for now. You could also cut the dead coil to lower about 1/4 inch more or so. The cheapest I have found them, (they are cheaper than the NF or GF, and drop lower) was $234 plus shipping (new). Not many people have them, mista808 iirc has them on dead struts, and it lowered the car enough to practically touch the tires.

I haven't really heard about HnR drop springs, but I assume they drop about the same as Eibach springs (about 1 inch) and Tein S-techs (1.5). The race springs are something different, but then again, they may be made for different apps, but might not lower the same amount.

If it's not low enough, or you are looking at a more expensive option, or something that's going to cost more than 300, just save the money for coilovers. No need in spending money on shocks and springs, and have it come out to 7-800 when you could just spend 500 more(at most) and get coilovers, go lower, ride stiffer, safer, etc etc.

H&R is an european brand if I'm not mistaken. They have a few types. Different spring rates and different drops.

H&R only offers the Sport line for the LS.
