Y33 kouki USDM to kouki JDM trunk Pics...

Due to objections of a personal choice to my ride, my other thread (Update on my Y33...) was closed. So I had to start a new one...

When I get a chance I'll will post some how-to pics in the tutorial section, if anyone is interested. The conversion is not yet fully complete however, because I still need the corner lights...still lookin and saving...

How is this any different than the 97-98 USDM trunk besides the amber on the corner lights from your 99+ model?  Regardless, I like the 97-98 over the 99+, and this looks great, looks just like my lights.

Dude in all honesty, I was borderline on doing the conversion. I did it because i had bought the parts way in advance and felt I had to do it. But on the way home to Vegas from Cali my girl was driving my car (brave) and I was driving my old car from behind.  When I watched my car it totally gave me a flashback of the Y32 Cima . I say Keep It!!!

Yeah, Originally I wanted to do this to, but in person I am really starting to like my rear end better.  I do agree that the JDM or even the 97-98 looks better in pics though...

And actually, quite a few new cars are going back to that wrap around tail light configuration, like that new Mercury Milan (which I've seen several hooked up that look great) and some other cars which I'm drawing blanks on.

Anyhow, both trunks look good, but I like all that gleaming cherry red and clear plastic!  lol

i still prefer usdm one more

They sell those chrome license plate shrouds....just in case you were wondering....
 
On the the conversion it looks like the trunk and lights dont line up???is it just me???????

Probably cause the 99+ tail lights are slightly different plus the centers are amber instead of clear.  I was gonna suggest he find a set of 97/98 side tail lights for a perfect match.

No I highly doubt that, I have Zauber Royal Effect skirts.

Yeah at the bottom of his orginal post he said he was still looking for them. 97-98 are kinda hard to find for a good price... I'm currently looking for a right outer tail so I can do a DIY on clearing your tails and then sell the set

seriously you could hardly notice the change, the only thing I noticed was all the badges on the trunk. 

the center badge was cool I guess.

there is a 97 parts car on Ebay, I'm sure you could contcat them as they are nortselling the whole parts car, but parting it out...

Yeah, i noticed the KGC10 before i even looked at his trunk haha.

I see the difference now, jdm looks a bit more aggressive due to the center license plate.

But i still have mix feelings on what trunk style i like better.

Just simple bolts, and of pulling due to the water proofing right?

...the guy who was helping me with my purchase called Work Wheels and asked them if I could have it a lower price. Then Work let me have it as a gift.

that's awesome that they hooked you up.  i just saw it when you first posted the thread and thought it would look nice on the fenders, but it's not something that i would want to spend that much money on.  i could put the $240+ towards something that is a little more essential.
