d2r HID into Fogs??
I know that the bulbs are not the same, but if I have a set of g35 sedan HIDs with ballasts and D2R bulbs etc, other than custom mounting.....what else would I need to make these work in my fog lights? Has anyone done the wiring for this or similar installs? I fear electrical. I do mechanical stuff all the time, but I hate wiring so please excuse my "newbish" question. Thanks
Will I have any problems with the actual heat etc from D2R's being in the fog assembly?

Are we talking stock fogs?
If so you need an H3 bulb!
The D2r bulbis way too big and will be way to bright even if you were able to make it fit!
+ how you would have to rewire the whole set-up to connect to that kind of bulb.......
I would say jus buy an H3

Thats the kind of information I was looking for. I have a chance to get the full Ballasts and all, but if the bulb won't fit into the housing then I will just go with an H3 bulb conversion kit.
By the way, what is the bulb type in the HID headlights on the y33??
Thanks
anybody know someone that wants that type of HID set up though?? I can get it for you/them for less than $150, all factory stuff in working order from on 05 G

If it's the 99+ than D2S
If it's 98 - 97 than 9003
I think H4 will work for the JDM clear headlights which are the same as the 99+
*If you have the 99+ it tells you the bulb you need on the front of the headlight housing.....
But a D2R bulb is WAY too long for stock fogs!

No, you wouldn't need an adapter since your Q probably already has aftermarket HIDs on it. But if you had an F50 which has an OEM HID setup, you can still just buy aftermarket HID bulbs for it since they come in all OEM applications nowadays.

turbosilvia is right, a few variants came with stock reflector (non-projector) HID's. you can check out that sylvania link above and see what bulbs we run stock -- i think if it's a d2s/d2r and you get the same kind of aftermarket bulb you can just change and go.

D2R, My Y33 comes with factory HID's also. You can use D2S but the OEM bulb is a D2R and from what I have been told the R is a better shielded version so I stuck with D2R only....Good Luck.

I did 8K HID's in the fogs and will be doing matching 8K headlights...Did the same thing in the Fiance's I35.
As for the Ballasts I did them above the light itself.

^ no sense in spending cash on new fogs until I get a new bumper and can custom graft something newer and nicer into it...:giggity:

so i just wanted to verify...I'm getting the bulb replacement (6000k) for my stock ballast. That will work correct even though its an aftermarket bulb...it should connect to the stock ballast?. Just making sure before I buy it.
