rolling/pulling

Sup guys.I'll be getting my rims hopefully in the next 2 months.and my rear fenders gonna need some pulling.but I got some questions.do you cut the inner lip of the fenders first in order to pull it or can you roll the lip then pull it?and when you cut/shave the inner fenders,do the fenders lose its rigidity and become flimsy?

as you roll the lip flat, itll slightly pull it at the same time. when the lip is flat (not totally flat) then itll start pulling out. I wouldnt recommend cutting, or trimming/shaving. if i was to cut or shave off material, i wouldnt go past the spot welds but that would only get you like 1/8" to 1/4".  theres spot welds there for a reason, its joining 2 (or more) pieces of sheet metal together.....

cutting will lose rigidity, but is so much quicker and easier.
rolling is a pain, but will be stronger.  for lexus, they use 2 sheets of metal just for the fender itself, so rolling and pulling would be quite difficult id imagine. 
or you can heat up a majority of the fender(some heat will be transferred to the fender lips) and as you roll, you will pull as well. dont ask me how i know. lol. i did that by accidnent.

mista808, btw, you have the insurance kit correct? where did you get it from? im trying to locate a whole kit for my vcv10 project and for how much?

sorry, i got a devils kit.... 

you can heat the lip before you roll/pull it. mainly so that you dont crack the paint, and to help roll the lip flat. i usually leave the car out in the sun for a while so that the heat distributes evenly, then i roll/pull.

i think you might be talking about me, dont know though....

I about to repaint my whole car over and thinking I should cut my fender and roll it. Do you guys think that is a good idea to do or just roll and pull it? oh BTW its a 98 Ls400 so you guys can have an idea to help me

i did my wifes car, that thing is a pain in the ass
the rear fenders are so thick, that it took a shit ton of time jus to get the lip flat.

anywyas, its easy, just order a roller on ebay, and take your time

it seems like a pretty steep risk of cracking the paint at the corner of the fender where your turning a 90* angle into a 180*. Has anybody thats done their own roll encountered this problem?

You don't need to.  The only place you need to roll flat is the very top..the rest can gradually go out depending on your fitment.  It's really not that big a deal.

My rears are cut
and I jus rolled my fronts yesterday!!!!

Pancakes, did you remove the plastic liner? Or did you modify it?
