y33 sunroof leak!!!?

just wondering if anyone else has this problem? sunroof is leaking and when im on the freeway i can really tell ,also sprayed water and sure enough its leaking... took it to infiniti and they tried to adjust the sunroof but they couldnt fix it...i need a new seal, they told me that the seal isnt sold seperatly from the glass so i would have to buy a new sunroof glass... price on this is almost $1000 just for the glass and seal!!!!!! i dunno if they are bull shitting me or what.. i tried to look for just the seal but i cant find just the seal in stock anywhere.... i know that the seal is available seperatly just having a hard time finding one
 
just wondering if anyone knows a place where i can find this part?

fortunately I do not have this problem.

how about using some kind of silicon glue and just seal up the whole seal ?  or just find some sealant substitute and just seal it all up.

i was thinking of doing this also but its kind of complicated to me, reason being i still want to have full use of my sunroof.. plus id rather have the car in good working order rather than taking short cuts... im kind of anal like that. haha but i did find one site

illustration is kind of sketchy but i hope the weatherstrip is the part i need...
 
anyone use this site before?

I used to use food grade silicon to condition my door jam seals and for the first week it can be slimy, but it helped out a ton on the seal.  If it is only a small leak and the rubber is still decent in most places, this could help....
 
It will all depend on how bad the rubber is and how much of a leak you have.  Good luck

yea the rubber is still in great condition.. ant i know the leak is coming from the rear of the seal... the leak isnt bad just irritating... haha.. if im driving in the rain it keeps all the water out just when you put a hose directed towards the sunroof and spray water then it will leak.never heard of food grade silicone??? is it just to make the rubber softer???  ill look into this
