Is anyone running a Optima in the stock location? My Batt is done and I figured I would drop some money and pick up a Yellow Top. Thanks. Dom.
I'm not a 100% on this but I think you'll need a little modd to get this too fit! I think I was gonna get one along time ago but found out it's too big! Don't quote me on that though, it was a LONG time ago.... :shrug:
They have different sizes and otehr companies make deep cycle batteries that are sometimes better than yellow tops. I replaced the factory with an interstate deep sycle in my GS300 and I could listen the the stereo for hours and the car would start right up. And I was running a 3800w system in that car.
i have a yellow top in mine, but needs a little spacer underneath to push it up.
kinetik ftw!! look them up. im sure a 1400 series would fit right in. thats what im running in my 03 Q. their batteries are compact and powerful
I am looking for something that will fit in the stock location, has high CCA's and will put up with my system. The Kinetik's are a grip. I can't throw $350 on a battery right now. So I am looking for something a little more cost effective. Maybe $200 max.

You can get the idea from the pic up top. If you need better pics I can take one of the final product with the washers to keep it tight... Do you mean you added washers?
Pretty tight fit, the only main thing i would worry about is if the thermals clear your hood. From the looks of it, they do a great job doing so.

yea kinetik kicks ass... i like em better than optima.... alot of guys here(hawaii) are running these batts.

I have a yellow top in mine. They come with a spacer. I planning of getting a billet battery tray later.
What model number Yellow Top do people have? And what did you pay? If you don't mind me asking. I don't feel like getting my pants pulled down over the price. I'm going to have to pick one up tomorrow. Edit: It looks like the red tops are more powerful. I think I will go for one of those.

Also, you get the Yellow Top like I did (I am assuming it has had a redesign) the fused positive cable will not reach the terminal on the Batt. It is about 1/4 of an inch off. I just took a 2" piece of 4ga wire, crimped two circular tabs on the end and shrink wrapped the ends. Then I removed the positive cable clamp from the fuse piece and just put the wire between the two to make it slightly longer. Works great. If anyone wants pictures, I can grab some.
