Might be a dumb idea but...VIP MR2??

Might be getting a 91 Toyota MR2 and was just wondering if its even a good idea to VIP style the MR2??? Its an Automatic tranny, non turbo one so no fun there. Just seeing what the VSC community thinks. I remember seeing a FD RX7 on a magazine that had the VIP look...cant remember when i saw it in the Mag. He was able to pull it off real nice. Maybe im just crazy and should just consider Turbo and manual 5spd conversion instead...

Yep, dumb idea. ;p  Maybe VIP Inspired at most.  But it's a small 2dr sports car.

not dumb but stupid. pls read the thread on vip 101 and educate your self.  Pls get the correct platform if you want to be part of the vip culture.

Its a waste of time, but if you feel like it needs to be done, you have all the right to VIP it.

Personally the MR2 is too fun of a car to drive, i rather aim it towards track specs then Luxury VIP.

Use that as your daily driver while you do major suspension work on a real VIP platform. So you get best of both words without the headache of having your main source of transportation put under the knife for a couple weeks.

Good point...dont think those cars(all MR2's) are made for this type of styling/looks...now i gotta look for a lexus/infinity/mercedes/Bmw/Acura type of platform...MAN im a Newbie...but im learning

Guess i cant let go of the MR2 passion i have(own a 03 MR-S and 02 MR-S and soon to be 91 MR2) Time to try something different

Had a T04 turbo, trunk mounted intercooler, volk rims and all kinds of Phoenix mods.  I too was thinking about vip ing it when i was a newbie...but after educating my self by looking (not reading) Vipcar and VipStyle magazines that a true 4 door rear wheel drive luxury sedan is the only way to go.  Look around the galleries. Gato has some sick pictures posted.  Since your a toyota guy like me...im sure youd want to hop on the Lexus band wagon!  :biggthumpup:

Just because an FD and a VIPcar share the same wheels, it does not mean it is VIP. :pat:
