possible second car

i am just starting my 94GS.  i have a little ranger truck i have been trying to sell for a while now.  i had a guy call today and offer to trade me a 94 LS 400. he said he ownes a car lot and has a cust who wants to buy my truck. he would rather just trade a car and this is all he has in the same price range.  he sent a few pics and it doesnt look bad however he said the fan or something in that area is making noise. does it have a fan clutch setup like my GS? has anyone had and issue with their fans and if so was it a costly fix.  the car has 170k.  what do you guys think?

Not sure about the fan situation, but that looks like a very clean vip base (from the tiny pics that i can see...).
hopefully one of the LS owners can chime in about the fan info!
