UCF10 megan coilovers showed up!
well, i ended up getting the megans. i liked teh locksmice, but i really didn't have the patience to wait for another 500 bucks and deal with the ****ty ride anymore.
plus i figured i'd be the guinea pig and take pics and document the whole install and results so maybe other people can take advantage of them as well.
i have the advantage of doing my own labor in my shop, so i lose nothing labor wise.
first impression: they showed up FAST! got them from an ebay vendor and he shipped them the same day i paid and they showed up in 5 working days.
fantastic. anybody wants a link let me know.
i open the box and wow! they look great. the machining and overall visual quality is excellent. they come already assembled, so all you have to do is remove old struts, bolt in new coilovers.
i'll take pics asap and post. the install will hopefully be tomorrow if i am slow at work and i'll take pics of that as well....

as long as it doesn't bounce me down the road like cut springs, i'll be happy! stiff ride, that's fine.

evertime i ran megan coilovers i never had any issues and i liked the quality of them. its just personal preference for alot of folks...if i wasnt getting such a good deal on kts i would have gotten megans again.

I am running meagans now and no issue. not even designed for the car. but you also pay for what you get.

these are the new "Luxury Package" coilovers from megan, theyre supposed to be for larger luxury cars. site says spring rates are 12kg/10kg. they also say "(not too aggressive) offering spring rates for a more comfortable ride, but still giving you the sporty feel & control."
definitely looking forward to your feedback. you should slam your car on these and give feedback on ride quality and then take your car up to your normal ride height (your personal preference).=)

springs arent what determine comfort level, why does everyone think that!!!
Ive ridden in perfectly matched 14/12 Zeal coils, and it rode the exact same way as a similar aragosta 10.8 setup
dampers are the #1 reason for a bad ride, not springs.

i know springs dont determine comfort, they just hold your car up. i was just stating that off their website just like the other things i quoted off their site:pat:

yup it work on a ucf10 as well. the rear just needs to be adjusted low. the nice thing about the megans is that when you adjust height, it doesn't change the shock stroke because the shock body is screwed down or up into the actual mounting base. so stroke and spring rate remain teh same no matter how high or low they are set.

i installed them yesterday, super easy. bolted right on. how does it ride? fuckin awesome.
i set teh shocks on full soft, and it rides just a tiny bit stiffer than stock, like you would expect with aftermarktetr springs and shocks. only the oldest most non into modding cars type of person would notice.
it feels like a sport suspension audi or bmw.
i will actually stiffen it up a bit, as i'd like to ahve a bit more roll control.
they definitely will get low, i didn't slam it, as my generic weak 17's i have now look like shit with teh car dumped, so iti's just on the tire now iwth a lot more to go.

I drifted on megans for over a year on my old s14 with nothing but good things to say about them. Have you seen the new lower mounts they have for some cars that give extra clearence for wider wheels? These guys are defenetly thinking about who their audience is.

my megans have held up through 2 240sx's including a couple auto x's and lots of drifting. now i'm not saying they are they best out there, but i will say i have no reservations about putting them on any of my cars!
but some pics would be nice any day now.

i've never been in an ls with tein cs's but these ride very very nice. as close to stock as one could hope for. of course i have them set on 5 for damping. i'm gong to stiffen it up more when i get my wheels and drop it more.

smallwonder has his coilovers set all the way on stiff, and it still rides pretty nice! when you hit a pothole it hits hard as hell though, but that's normal. compared to tein CS i'd go with the megans, pretty close to the same ride quality but the megans go lower. plus they're inverted monotube, and i dont know if the CS's are or not.

from what i've found, the megans were initially designed for the ucf20, which is why the rears need to be lowered quite a bit more to make it low enough on a 10.
