LHD Y33 VIP Wood Dash Table, YOUR GOING TO WANNA SEE THIS!

Sup VSC members..have not posted to much lately cuz I have been working on making CUSTOM LHD Dash Tables! ;)

I am using 3/4" MDF wood. Stainless steel 3" triple chrome Cup holder Bezel inserts, High grade aluminum tubing that I am hand sanding and polishing to a chrome like finish. The edging is a bendable rubber with a thin metal chrome wrap. Each table will be primered using 3 coats of special wood primer, 5 coats of base coat, Air brushed wood grain and then 5 Coats of clear and cork cup coasters .

So here is the actual pics of the table:

Thanks mang...Yeah the VIP emblem was just placed to see how it would look but it kinda clashes with the table for some reason...probably just leave it blank or perhaps use one of my cima script decals..I was thinking about starting another business cuz I have been doing alot of painting and now these tables so maybe I will incorporate a logo decal in chrome that folks could put on or not, would be up to them...

Not sure if this will fit but It fits perfectly in my LX470...it just may be very well fit other cars as well depending on the dash curve and length...I just dont have a way of testing it yet as I dont have access to other cars...I was thinking about trying to test drive some cars and taking measurments but as of this moment  ....Maybe you could send me measure ments and I could compare to mine and see where we are at..

Cuz it's all custom handmade work man, of course it's gonna be higher than Garson tables. The guy is making them by hand and by orders that he receives. MDF wood is used for sub boxes and sound systems.

MDF is one of four main categories of wood based panels - laminated boards, particle boards, fibre boards and oriental strand boards. These different types of boards are distinguished by the level of conversion of the wood raw material into veneers, particles or fibres.

Thats some good looking workmanship, looks clean and very profesional..

For sure it would be more expensive than Garson, unless mass produced in a sweat shop. For one MDF is better wood what what Garson uses. Garson uses fiber boards which to give you an idea is the same kinda wood most Ikea stuff is made of. also the wood grain surface is custom painted and not just a laminate cover like the Garson ones. I for one think it looks pimp and think its worth it. Good job man!

Even I was thinking about making a line up of LHD tables (I'm sure alot of us have =)). I was just gonna buy like 10 Garson tables and use them as templates and make everything backwards to get the right curvature of all models. I found all the places to get all the materials. The fiber board, burl wood laminate, small chrome legs, fabric for the table surface indented section, and I was even gonna use the Garson coasters and 2way table rings. But as for time and cost I didn't think it was worth it. And no way could match Garsons unless as I mentioned mass produced in a sweat shop in China (Which I think is how its actually is made) Let's face it the vip scene is not exactly the level of the "civic nation". But I seriously give you MAD PROPS for doing everything from scratch and doing it all custom!! ,:cool2:

Thanks to all you guys imput and support.

I was going to say the same thing about Costs and what not...When you mass produce things there allways going to be cheaper than custom made items. Like I said before I am not into the market of mass producing these tables as I just don't have the time. I was thinking of it like this. I would make thoughs who want a table but at a cost. Materials are not CHEAP at least the ones that I am using...

My table, right now has costed an arm and a leg. Becuase I had to buy the edging at a minumum amount of 100ft. THat was not cheap. The cup holders were $80 alone for them, the Tubbing was a satin finish that I had to put on the buffer to polish them and cut each piece with a pipe cutter. I had to make several tables to get the exact look and feel if you look on LJC I went through many stages. Once againg MDF is not a cheap material..Then the custom paint...that alone I charge quite a bit for becuase it is not a cheap process..Not to brag but it does take a skilled artist to do paint jobs like this.

IF you take your car to a custom paint shop and ask them to custom paint your parts burlwood you will find that you will be limited to what shops can and cant do this..the ones that can will charge you way way more than I do.

There is that guy who invented the true fire air brush paint jobs. Sit down cause you know how much he charges to paint true fire??? $20,000-$50,000 on up...Yeah I know and look at his work that shit looks like its on fire. Reason I say this is so that you all know that it takes time and years of expierence. I have been airbrushing since the early 90's so I have a pretty good grasp of colors and what not.

As far as these tables are concerned, I will take the appropriate steps to get them to the public that are willing to pay for them..I have Pm'd Mdenoga and am trying to do things right so that I don't step over any of the VSC vendors feat.. I did delete the price and for sale part of this thread untill things are in order..

Once again thanks for all your support and understanding...and remember its Quality over Quantity. I do this not just for me but for VIP style and for all you cool catz out there trying to push the VIP scene in your hood...

looks awsome man.. ever thought about taken it up a notch to real wood like Koa.. i know it cost more but it make it more original if your going to make more of those.

I just love it when guys do custom mods rather than just buy something thats already out there.

Well I originally wanted to use a slab of Burlwood...and have it solid stained and cleared but as it is the cost is allready steep...I think folks would appreciate them more but they would become un-affordable. I was looking at burlwood pieces online and the thing about using exotic woods is you are very limited to how big a piece and the more eye candy it looks the more it costs. THis is why I chose just to use MDF and paint it myself..rather than vaneer or vynal wrap...Thanks though for your complaments It was a lot of hard work and I have a pile of scrap tables that shows it..hee hee hee...
