VIP ride comfort?

Funny question, what is a Vip style ride comfort? I would like to know if you have to make the ride of the car rougher or more of a fine Mercedes S-Class comfort?

Has someone here added coats of sound deadening resin and or asphalt mats to make the ride so refined you won't even know the car is moving?

Thanks!

Why? I thought airbags provide the best ride comfort even with low profile tires?

hahaha, if you say so

i can tell you first hand, they dont.
if you want to be low, you have to be stiff.

Hes right. When your really low, comfort is thrown out the window. My air ride is smoother then most peoples rides that I know in the area that are low but by no means its is stock like smooth. If anyone tells you different then they either have no pot holes and can not feel a difference in ride quality or they are driving too high

The only VIP platform I've rode in is a 91 LS400 with all the options and it has an OE air-ride suspension controlled by an after market remote, it also has some 18"s and it has a pretty sweet ride. (although it isn't low at all, maybe dropped by an inch and a half...)

Dont get me wrong, air ride is very comfortable with a 3" drop but when your riding around with a 5-6" drop, there isnt much comfort. If the ride isnt stiff, you will bang your bumpers on everything not to mention potential damage under your car and parts for Flagship luxury sedans are not cheap (luckily not as expensive as Euro parts)

lol ride comfort

Do coils with the dampers set to retarded for a few months, then adjust them down to something reasonable and it will feel like you increased your comfort. :D

Yeah, the difference between mildly modded cars and the ones that make your jaw drop is a big one.

When you still have 3-4" ground clearance you can afford to have 2-3" of suspension travel (which absorbs bumps nicely). When you have 1-2" ground clearance, you will want less than an inch of suspension travel, otherwise your car will hit the ground on bumps.

Less than 1" suspension travel will be uncomfortable, no 2 ways about it.

it seems that with anything less than 2 inches of travel u will be riding kinda rough regardless of what suspenstion you have. i have intentionally reduced my travel so i dont bang the ground when driving fast as shit

I ride smooth at a decent height but, what they are saying is true. I feel every bump on the road, no matter how high or low i am my air setup is way more stiff than stock. But compared to my old JIC setup its super smooth on coils i was pogo stick stiff. Thats why I don't recommend JIC, better quality and better riding coils are out there imo.
