VIP DVD.....Possobility FEELER/// What say you???

I just purchased two HD Sony video cameras for my business..I have a couple jobs I will be doing for some companies and after that I was thinking about perhaps comming out with a US VIP DVD for distribution. 
 
I wanted to give youVIP  folks in Cali a heads up cuz I will be looking for cars to feature if I can get enough quality rides together for a VIP shoot. It is something up in the air right now but how many of you would be interested in a US VIP DVD???? Give me all the input as possible and for those with projects start working on finishing them up....
 
I would also Like to perhaps get some paying sponcers for the video. I hope that Autofashion would be intersted as it seems like they have a strong game in VIP in Cali, this would be agreat way to get your name out there and show the nation what you are all about. 
 
I would start with Southern Cali and perhaps LA.. for the first video..then perhaps Hawaii or the east Coast if there are enough cars to feature that is..
 
IN this Video I would like to interview folks at AutoFashion show them what you guys are doing and any input on VIP style . I would also like  folks that will have thier cars displayed in the Video to say a few words about thier whips....
 
Let me get your input on this as I work out the details of it all.

BUT i think its a good idea, as long as you keep the price point under 15 bucks

Too early for this..the market isn't quite at that point yet.  The DVD market is very bizarre..and fickle.  Maybe if you started shooting video now and released it further down along the line it might work.  You'd most likely have the hardest time with distribution.  Getting a production like this to mass market will be REALLY hard.  It has to be exciting somehow..which usually vip is to me, just only those involved will get excited.  I think the general public would be bored by it.  It's not like it's a motorsport.  I'm not trying to discourage you..we (Grip Video) had thought of doing this before, but that was the realization..which was even worse then since even many people on this forum didn't know what vip was then.  Now you'd have a better chance..but it's still a niche market.  

Who knows, down the line it might intrigue the general public..but I think that's a long shot.  What level of production are you thinking of and what level of distribution?  The HD cams will actually be great for vip since it's lower speed and detail oriented.  As for sponsors those come through after they've seen the potential of your production and the level of distribution.  Any questions you have Rich, just let me know.  We went from selling hundreds of DVD's to tens of thousands...so it's not an impossibility.  People told us drifting was too much of a niche market, but we helped to turn that around and bring it into average  peoples' living rooms..maybe you can do the same for vip.

i think theres enough interest/content for a grassroots vip video. i just wouldn't get too caught up in making a large profit/impact with it. kinda like an underground mixtape type of thing. i don't think it would catch on to the masses cause, as cool as vip cars are, all they do is drive slow and low. i think it would only be entertaining to those who are already interested in vip.

Yeah Video was not going to be like main streem just something you could pick up here on VSC and maybe some local Car shops in the area..I have been talking to some wheel and car accessorie shops here and some of them sound interested in possibly letting me distribute them in thier shops. Not thinking of anything big but I want to start putting these cameras to work. I have a old friend who owns a production company and we have been working side by side for a bit now and are kinda wanting to merge businesses and jump into other things. We both bring lots of years of expierence him with video prodcution and film and me with animation and video processing and graphics... So it was just an idea I had that thought maybe we could start producing VIP flicks...I know its not so well known in the states but it could be with the right moves and what not..Like title sais FEELER...just wanting your folks input....

That' sounds like a good approach Rich.  Starting that way is how we started too.  Smaller scale..then as things progressed..things just happened.

I think it would be awesome to have a US VIP video with all fellas from the east & west coast & maybe south (Texas).

I saw do it...start in San Diego since AF is here. I think there is allot of interest since its blowing up on the U.S magazines ie super street and other performance magazines.  I bet it would be a hit too if you distributed it to japan.  just have japanese subtitles lol.

Pictures dont always tell the whole story.  Seeing cars rolling is what its about.  I think the cars them selves are exciting enough.  Take rolling shots going through local neighborhoods rolling deep while taping peoples reactions.  Just get lots of night shots in there too so it has more of an underground type of appeal to it.
