why would you want to hide the engine.......... the LS engine can be fixed up to look good.
why not? engine covers make the bay look a lot cleaner

i think it look alright but it would save alot of cleaning and i think there are more pros than cons for me. but nice engine bays do look cool.
I think it looks clean but i prefer the naked look. I dunno why but I like seeing the internals when I open up the hood.

I like that half/half. My personal favorite engine bays are in Ferraris. Half clean plastic look, and half big mean metal to meatl motor.

What is the point of opening up the hood if you are just going to cover everything? I think its a lame attempt to show how lazy a person is when detailing their car. I vote "no".
I would rather have the hood popped and see some nice detail work done to make the engine bay look a little cleaner rather than a plastic cover.
It doesnt look to Bad it's kind of clean looking.
Nobody has mentioned heat issues. A cover like that needs to be carefully designed to still allow proper airflow around the engine or otherwise your vipcar would be stuck on the side of the road over-heated!

No thanks. I have one in the GS, and it's stock. (engine cover) I wouldn't buy it if I didn't already have it though. Those other covers don't do much.

True, I know it's not an LS, I was just trying to use it as an example of what to aim for. A lot of hotrod/streetrod guys have been doing this to get a more modern feel in the engine bay. They are using fiberglass or metal to make pretty much anything they want. Here's an example of that: [IMG]http://static.taume.com/image/Holden-EFIJY-4.jpg[/IMG] It's basically to give a more clean appearance, yet still show some of the mechanical aspect of the engine, yet cover up the riff raff.
