What I've been up to since selling the Q...

Well besides getting a new job that I have grown to....ahem..."love"...I got something smaller, faster, and german. The plan was to keep mods to a minimum. Its been almost a year now (8 months) and here's what I've got:

I am waiting for the weather to get nicer to finish up the exterior...
Here's the rundown of what I've done and planning on doing:
1) Power: Turbo-back exhaust - Done
                 Intake - Done
                 Stage 2 chip - Done
2) Suspension: Coilovers - Done
                         Sway bars - Still thinking about that
3) Exterior: Lip kit - will get one before summer....all depends on how much uncle sam gives back on tax return
4) Wheels: 18x8.5 front, 9.5 rear +45 offset all around...not too agressive but not conservative either. Just waiting for weather to get better so I can start fittin them on the car.

Whats the final vision?

I still miss getting thumbs up from older crowd when I rolled the Q. Now I have to settle for a peace sign from other GTI owners as they drive by hehe

No they are Images.  VERY expensive Geman 3 piece wheels.

And I am soooooo excited to see this car done.  I miss my GTI, and I still get to see your old works on a regular basis.

Yes, like Mark said...the wheels are made by Image. 

I pretty much have all remaining pieces picked out, just need the funds and good weather to do them. I've been itching to put the wheels on for the past few days since I got them, but its too cold and raining and still possibilities of snow over here.

what size tire can you fit on the 9.5 rears?

Right now I'm running 215/40 front and 225/40 rear FK 452's.

WOOT! Uncle sam did me right this year, so a request for a price quote for Votex kit went out today! Now if the weather cooperates I may be showing updated pics sooner than I thought!

Meh...that one needs to be expanded:

Gas consumption and amount per tank: Q > GTI
Acceleration and thrill of driving: Q <  GTI
Ability to park in downtown on a friday night: Q < GTI
Shape of the car...frame, body, etc: Q < GTI


I could keep on going on that one. I loved my Q but it was time to move onto something else. Later on I may pick up another VIP platform...but not anytime soon.
