How long has this website been around??? just wondering. seems like a lot of members on here, and i just semi-recently heard about this site.

What's VCS?

and we here have been around for a long time.

Its been around since 04.  Most of the OG's from back then dont post on here anymore.

i have VSC on my rl vehicle stability control :dance:

Ya it's been a long time for sure!  I remember being on the "old site" back in the day here.

Dang 2003. thats tite. I heard about the site though someone talking about it at a tea place. and then I saw it in Super STreet or some import magazine.

See the thread below to answer your question. Also, it is not about the number of posts you make but how well you know about VIP. VIP 101 section was created to help new members learn about VIP the correct way. This section is where questions about VIP will be answered by our veterans of the site.

I remember I came to this site long long long time ago.   It was pretty much almost dead.  The socal guys used to have a couple meets with maybe 5 cars max...they met in irvine i think...they didn't have too much done to the cars but they were around.   How did it start catching on?

So you actually have to know a lot about VIP Cars Just to be able to post on the main part of the forum.... How do you even know how much i know about VIP Cars? OR even Cars in general? I dont see how you or anyone can judge someone on the amount they know about something, just though the things they say on this site. It seems un-fair, and seems as if moderators maybe have too much authority in who they let post and not post. Any moderator, im guessing, can just not like someone and be like, nope not allowed to post. And back the fact of knowing or not knowing about VIP Cars... There is no Rule book on what VIP cars are. now looking back in the years at magazines and online and even in japan... Vip cars can be pretty much any sort of car out there... somewhat. And it has even been said in the main part of this forum. The list of platform cars i can agree are the most popular of the VIP cars to be built to this day, but there are more than just that. Now it seems as if you have to take a test on here just to be able to be "Promoted" to the main part. Doesnt make sence to me... Doesnt make sence about how the moderators just get to judge people by what the write on the page, and not on what the person really knows. Im sure there are many people maybe now, before, or in the past, who were stuck in this VIP101 thing, who realy may even know more about VIP cars than the Moderators do. IM not saying that the moderators or site creator or anyone on the site is dumb and doesnt know anything. Im just saying its an unfair system and its unfair to hold anyone back from the main forum based on the things they have posted, and not on actual knowledge of VIP cars.

It is here to help you ... I have seen so many great threads go to waste when a "new members" come out from no where and talks about stuff he/she doesn't know .. 

We have all seen it and this is a way for you to read up and learn about the correct chassie codes for the "real"  Vip cars ...  for example.. 

I have a  1999 gs400 aka "Aristo" with a v8 , and in Japan it comes with a 2jzgett motor ..6 cyc  motor  also whats in the Supra Mk4 ect...

Anyone can style the car any way but Being Vip is Not what you will read in todays Magazine .. they are still incorrect ...  I hope that helps ... If you get lost ask questions in here Vs going into a thread with No idea whats going on ..

thats not at all what i was talking about... And i do know what an aristo is, and also what motor comes with it... and even more about the car... And what you are saying about "todays magazine" So... VIP Car, VIP style, VIP wagon, Wagonist, etc... those arent VIP? uhh.. i know you are probably refering to like Super street and import tuner or whatever.. but, yah. NOt what my other post was about... sorry. 
 
But I am happy to hear you share the type of car you have. If you need a wiring diagram for the 2j motor for a aristo, let me know. I have one on a PDF file.

I too find this Amusing, which is why I now want to question everyones knowledge of VIP cars. Truthfully I could careless, i just think its fun seeing people get all uptite and all Elitist on people they dont even know.
 
Im not saying im a genious, but, I have seen some cars in person, who im pretty sure are on this site (looking at their Avatars of their cars) and most are pretty tite. some... well... not so tite, mostly norcal cars. sorry to say. Im sure you guys up there have some sick ass stuff, but i just havent seen it yet.

You're cars are pretty dope, i seen the SC in person back when it was silver and you had that little silver kid car next to it, and ive seen vids of you drivin. And you are really pretty, so... Ok maybe i should restate what i said, to make it clear to he norcal peeps up there. Im sorry i said there wasnt nice VIP cars up there. there are infact a bunch that ive seen. A couple online and in person. Im up north about 1-1.5 weeks out of every month with fam and friends livin up there that i visit. but.... like at a mall in san jose oak something...? i think its called? not sure but seen an is w/ flush wheels endless brakes... it was tite. seen a decent white G50 in san jose as well, i think it was for sale on here if im not mistaken... Saw another Purple G50 that was pretty nuts w/ work wheels, camber, curtains, and bosozoku style looking exhaust, anyways i saw an OK. black GS300 with some chrome 20's ADR? wheels on it i think and kitted up. cant remeember all of them, but yah ive been to a few meets up north and south, and seen whats out there. Sorry if i offended anyone. and to those peoples cars that i listed. high five.

Great list of mods! are the junction fenders metal or fiberglass? How much did you have to pull the fenders, cuz that offset on your wheels isnt like crazy agressive... Couldnt you have gotten away with some camber and smaller tires? Maybe its jsut me, but i try to stay away from pullin fenders and try to just roll out the lip on the inside. plus you gotta be careful when you pull cuz you might get that pressure dent on tthe rear Quarter panel.... hahaha ive seen sooo many 240s like that! Oh BTW, you should go for that 2J swap. you didnt even mention that you planned for it, but you mentioned the motor before. I did a 2j into a 98 gs300, with a 5 speed N/A tranny. It was much faster than the V8 that comes stock in a 400. And that was with just a front mount and down pipe. stock turbos

I rolled my old front fenders and had a minor pull because I was taking my Gs to the mountains ... Lake berressa

Replaced the fenders for the Jp ones... those are fiberglass, and they have +10-15 mil wider .. 

I will be looking for new wheels soon but for now adding a 25 mil spacer to flushen it out .. for the time being .. 

If I do a motor swap ... It will be there first ls6 auto in the gs400 over 350+ whp from a swap ... No aristo swap for me ... 

No motor swap and reasoning I didn't buy the gs300

thx thx ... My bro actually is getting home today with his ls1/240 , I have driven one and love it 6 speed thou ... but Its a blast and extremely loud .. 

When you get to see the other car I have forsale . (sr20det Miata) It might fund the ls6 swap if not then maybe pay down bills .. we'll see still debating

Ive been in an s13 with an ls1, it was pretty crazy hahaha, also an FD with an LS1. both were super fast. an SR miata sounds tite too. hahahaaa
