Buddyclub, HKS, JIC, Tanabe, and Tein

So I called up all the shops around my area, and the brand coilovers that came up is listed on the title. Could anybody share experiences about the product, and how much  of a drop each brand offer. Thanks!

horrible post. first of all, what car are they going on. second, coilovers are adjustable and how low they will be able to go will depend more on wheel size, offset, tire size, fender mods, and other clearane issues more than brand 9/10 times.

I did not ask if it would clear, I simply ask how much of a drop eash brand offer. Not all coilovers will bottom out to where it will touch the tires. There is more of a gap on 19s with low pros, than stock wheels/tires. Sure coilovers are adjustable, but by how much? Why would you need to know offset, and fender mods? I did not ask if a certain wheel spec will fit my car.

JIC lists 0.5" to 3.5" for FLT-TAR VIP

Thanks firelizard, just 4 more brands to go. Someone has got to have a set.

Tanabe gives F 1.8"[COLOR=red]/[/COLOR]R 1.5" drop.

Thanks![/quote]Your best bet is to check each manufacturer's site where they should list each coilover model and application since everything is going to vary. You can see that TEIN's coilover models vary in damper/ride height adjustability even for the same application.

Tried it, most of the sites don't list ride height specs. I'll try calling the shops tomorrow.

i can read so i know what you asked, the point is you can only go as low as your clearance allows. most coilovers will go lower than you car will allow.

19s on low pros gives about that much gap

From what I know, atleast Tein (certain models) has double threaded shock body. U can adjust the height without compromising the spring seats. Once that maxed out, you still got the spring perch to play with.

There's a VSS member who's got a Lexus LX (Harrier) that can cupped his 20s (not much OD difference from the stock wheels) no problem with his HKS unit. So yeah, what they said is right. Ride height is at your finger tips.

You yourself determine the ride height.

my flex on my gs can preety much lay frame.. so can jic or preety much any full threaded shock body coilover. as stated b4  you can droop the spring if the shock body bottoms out

this is one of the only pics i have (under construction and severly underweight). i drive a maxima so i know all about wheel gap. one thing i dont have to worry about is upper control arms which will be your first problem. i believe your car is one of the ones where they bind very quickly.

Thanks everybody, the last 3 post pretty much raps it up. Not looking for something too hardcore, I want to install then forget it. It's looking like Tanabe drop springs for me.
