What is your budget and what you want to spin? This factors on what kind of setup will be good for you. 

In my opinion, If you want to make beats and mix, I would recommend Ableton Live with either FaderFox or M-Audio midi controllers. That program can do both. There are a lot of tutorials online on how to use Ableton, so learning it will not be so bad.

i really wanna try and learn after being on this forum so much and all the threads with clips of dj's its badass

I used to spin a longtime ago. I wasnt very good. but its a fun hobby. I still have my 1200s and 05 pro mixer. Maybe I should get back into it.

haha naw it's my brothers collection, i keep telling him to sell them sneakers and get a sick ass VIP ride!! i was in the shoe game before but a jordan collector... my hobby became a fuckin addiction so i sold all of them :pat:

I spin reggae, dancehall, soca, and hiphop. Well, I try my hand at electronic and techno every once in a while, but reggae, etc. are my mainstays. For any of you reggae heads, I've been pretty heavy in the clash scene for about 6 or so years now.
