Old Q45s VIP?

Are old 90 Q45s like these a good VIP starter much like the LS400 or is it a pain in the ass VIP project to be build due to lack of parts? Infinitis look cleaner than the Lexus' for some reason and has a lower mileage too... xD

I found this an it looks pretty clean and looks like a mini Nissan President.

Thanks!

That actually is a G50, there were only 3 models of Q:

G50 from 1990-1996 (90-93 had belt buckle / no grille)
(FG)Y33 from 1997-2001
nd the final Q, the F50 from 2002-2006.

That Q is an early Q though, the one w/o a grille using the famous "belt buckle" emblem that ran from 1990-1993. Some like it others hate it. Personally though, keep looking. If you find a black or white one (especially with the white "Shamu" interior!) that would work, but champagne colored cars are not really fitting with VIP or EXE styles.

They have timing chain problems, and most first first gen q's are pretty beat up...remember, you are looking at an 18-15 year old car, and odds are maintenance hasn't been kept up with properly...just a word of warning. You'd get this with any car.

i love that old style Q, it was one of the fastest ever until i think the latest model. if you find one in a good color, go for it if it has maintenance records. there are parts available, they are just not easy to find like you had a honda or something.

There are a lot of early 90's Q45s (aka JDM President) done VIP style in Japan.
Look at Junction Produce's website and you'll see some pretty sweet ones there.

1. It's an older car so mainetenance is a PIA
2. They have Timing chain guide problems which if not fixed can be a very costly problem.
(94-96 this issue was addressed)
3. Even in Japan there is not allot of after market support for G50's I do however see more kits for 90-93 models then 94-96 models. I wonder if most of th epics you see are custom kits.
4. It's your choice I wouldn't go for that particular model just b/c they are cheap. Do it cause you want to.

Note the President is not the Japan version of the Q45, Same chassi different cars.

Is there a VIP company that makes President "style" front body conversions for the old Qs?

I'm trying my best to find me a nice older VIP cars, I even asked my friends, classmates and some family members to help me find a classic VIP, but most of them thought of ES300s and J30s to be UCFs and Y33s even though I gave them all photos. (My GF actually found me a real LS400, but it's the same black LS with the 'funky" smell from the minister I tested before x C .)

To make it look like a G50 President you need: front fenders, bumper, grille, hood and headlights, then for the rear I think it's just the center garnish that's different.

This is what you need for a President conversion.

rad support assy

grille surround panel
bumper cover
bumper absorber
bumper marker lamps

Some of those things are probably not needed but it's still not your typical S13 conversion.
May even need to do some wiring. My Q45 Type V lights required some rewiring for the high beams, luckily the low's are HID and fit right on.

The rear you just need the trunk and taillights. Or go the ghetto BOMEX way.....lmao
I wish I could find that pic.

No one that I know makes any type of aftermarket conversion for Q45>President.

i dont think its that hard to get a president conversion. isnt there a few people on here that have it done? ive seen a few pics online here with people doing, or have it done. Ive seen one G50 In nothern California who had the Rear trunk and lights done. so im sure its a matter of who you have connections with to get you the parts.
