Re: Some news about VeilSide and DPE wheels
Uh oh.... aren't DPEs just another random brand for Intro wheels? I saw a girl with a set of DPEs on her Audi semi recently and was severely-disappointed... and even more so after learning how much she paid for them. I remember thinking, "damn, that's like Intro wheels! Blah quality, poor design, and with high prices, yet euro car people will snatch them up like no tomorrow!" And sure enough, I think they were made by Intro. Anyway, looks like Veilside is also another company getting smart... i.e. hooking up with a company that can produce those bland style wheels for them that the US market tends to gobble up, that cost next to nothing to manufacture, yet sell for like 3x more than they should. Win freakin win, baby!

DPE is just like IFORGED CNC'd from Forged Billet centers. HRE is also done the same way. I don't see what the complaint could be about quality? Seriously there isn't a lot of room for error.
How DPE is an independent company run by 4 individuals whom are enthusiasts themselves.

Re: Some news about VeilSide and DPE wheels
There were alot of complaints about Iforged's clear coat finish etc. HRE's had plenty of failed wheels at the autocrosses etc awhile back.

More internet propaganda and bullshit. The wheels that failed were in fact Kinesis, not HRE.+
Yes, the DPEs are forged and CNC'd like other brands. The difference is in the design. If not properly engineered and tested, any forged wheel CAN and will fail... fatigue is the killer of wheels. Some of the American forged wheels are so thin in the cross-section (combined with thin spokes) that I can't see how they can pass fatigue testing. Of course, most companies don't test their wheels, since there is no regulation saying you have to... :buck2: :idiot2:
Hopefully the DPE crew is having an independent lab do the cornering and radial testing (they claim to)... if one of the Veilside wheels comes to grief, it's Veilside's name that will be tarnished. Honestly, I can't see how some of the iForged and DPE wheels pass test... certainly not to the new WIC recommended loads and cycles.

I personally have never owned any of the Intro-made wheels, but have seen plenty of them to be extraordinarily disappointed with the designs and construction and materials. BUT, an old roomate of mine deals with euro cars and says he's had to send back so many Intro wheels from the Audi and Bimmer guys... yet those guys keep shelling out the $$$.
Intro/Introforged/Jline/Zone/DTM Autohaus/DPE/Motoforged/etc. wheel...or 1/18th scale RC car wheel?

You are correct... and actually, sad as it may seem, I think the center lock toy wheel looks way better than a lot of those real wheels in question cuz it has a curvature to the spokes, and of course, the centers sink way in. The other one, looks just like the real wheels in question cuz, as I've said before, it looks like something someone could make in their intermediate machining course at a local community college... manual machining at that, not even cnc

Re: Some news about VeilSide and DPE wheels
A lil' off topic but those are really nice RC wheels. Are there any actual wheels that look like that? (not centerlock of course)
