fk 452

Was doin 80 on the 91 driving home sat. night with the wifee and kids....luckily I heard it even tho we were jammin to some earth wind & fire. Daaamn? How many miles did u have on it? Did it do any damage to the wheels?

the FK452's have been proven lousy here on VSC.

I had a 245 35 20 fk452 stretched on 9.5J go lopsided with a camber of about -3.5 . My sumitomo's htrz2 245 35 20 on 10J  have held up just fine on a -4 camber.  At first I thought that was how tires behaved on a mild stretch + camber set up. But the sumitomo's have proved my assumptions wrong.

Must be on an extreme camber setting. You literally rolling with your side wall. As usual, Falken will not take responsibility. Glad all of you are fine.

Prob had less than 5k on it....Wheel is fine to...no major bends...yeah luckily I heard it....just sounded like i was driving on a rough road....when I pulled off the freeway is when it got bad.....thing that sucks is...i'm prob gonna get another 452 because it will only cost me $42...lol

Good to hear you and your family are alright. Not to defend, but i'm sure tires fail within every company. Seems like the majority of consumers here have had that kind of luck, mainly due to stretching i'm sure. These tires are a bargain, but I would definately choose another brand if doing an agressive stretch. I know peeps w/ mild stretching and w/ proper air pressure they work fine, i.e. no bubbling and such. I think it would be very beneficial for us to have a solid [COLOR="yellow"][B][SIZE="4"]TIRE BRAND THREAD[/COLOR][/SIZE][/B] [/COLOR]w/ solid results or at least for stretching purposes a [COLOR="Yellow"][SIZE="4"][B]POLL[/B][/SIZE][/COLOR] to see what the consenses prefer.

your fk452's were not that stretched to begin with right ?

the FK542 are probably decent tires in a normal, non stretch set up. But put in in abnormal conditions and it will fail. 

some tires just hold up better than others in a stretched condition. the FK452 is not one of them.

ya in the pic looks stretched good, I don't recall his wheel width and offset being that aggressive.

I ended buying another FK452 since I had one just sitting around...... I'll let you guys know in a month or so if they hold up.

Falkens FKs are crap from every experience I have with them.

Dunlop > Bridgestone > Toyo > Federal

This is based on stretch vs price scale. Also a lot of J tuner shops I have talked to with a lot of tire experience has put the top two in their top 3.  There are a lot of other brands out there that I have not tried or heard anyone with experience praising them.

Yeah i'm planning to replace my fronts with FK's still since i have FK's all around. I've been running on them going close to a year with no problems whatsoever. Thank god. Just the usual inside wear.

And I had the same tires for about several months and the owner before that had them for a few more months and drove them all the way to Vegas and back for SEMA! HAHhahaha!
Maybe you got a lucky set Kev cause them tires got some miles on them! I'd say maybe over a year old! HAhahahha! CRAZY!!!!

265 30 on a 10"... don't know how much camber....I drive pretty low though
 
 
I paid full price when I originally bought the tires..... just had Discount tires price match an internet special $190 plus $42 for the roadside hazard protection... then when I get a large bolt or nail close to the sidewall I get a new one for free ;).... and pay another $42 for the roadside hazard. Did it three times already.
 
 
Oscar... I was bumping "After the love is gone" the kids love it.....I got them on old school stuff like GAP band, Isley bros..... Al green n stuff like that....real music

ive gone through 10 falken tires in the last 8 months and never had any problems.  i drive pretty low too.

nah i change out the rears about every 2k.  and the fronts every 4k.

i hit the bump stops when i drive.  well my plate says VIP TINT, and when slammed people stare and point and shit.  so the attention promotes my shop.  tires is a lot cheaper than the advertising we do, and we've cut down a little on the ads so i can afford tires.  im actually surprised i have never had any problems, driving on the sidewalls and shit.

i second the TIRE THREAD POLL REVIEW whatever you wanna call it. cuz i always wondered if paying less for a tire even tho its reputable is smart compared to buying something maybe double in price that prolly only last twice as long is there a savings theres

how does that roadside thing work...? once a tire goes prematurely they give you one free and you have to purchase the protection again? lmk cuz 42 bucks for tires is insance. hopefully they have my size

Yeah....but you can't bring it in all worn out with a nail half way pushed into the sidewall lol...they have a % of wear they allow..... another good thing is that you don't even have to go to the shop you bought from tho....so hit up all the spots around your area.... o yeah and they pricematch so search the web and print out the ad if you find a better deal.

do they sell nankang or general cuz i can get them for hella cheap right now :{( but i have to buy a radiator for my car (sigh)

Damn that sux!!! i was thinking of running the 452'S since they claim V.I.P and have a nice ad campaign but now i'm not going near them.

this is the car i drive.  the actual car daily. havent had problems but changing them often.  im looking at getting the rear toe adjusted but imscared they may not clear as good.
