I just Opened a Thread for Pics of "Luxurious Cars".  
Cars that do Not Fall Under VIP or VIPStyle.

No flaming He opened a thread to "try" to get more newbies to post up ... 

get the post counts higher and get them to talk ... and see what they have and if this site is for them ... 

I don't see any photos but I am at work .. maybe thats why ..

There are no photos. This guy is trying something, maybe he has an 'auto luxury' car. Not a vip car. 

There is a difference. Look at the article you posted. All it says about the owner of JP, is that he feels vip will catch on in America, and that JP and Falken are trying to promote VIP STYLE.  Some other guy IN AMERICA, has coined the term Auto Luxury, and said that any other car can tune their car this way, to make them  LOOK like a vip styled car. 

This guy 'clutch one' seems to think that since the owner of JP was mentioned in this article, that autoluxury was created by him and Falken Tires. It was not. It's an American made up thing, made up to make the little guys who have not enough money, and not the right car, to feel like they can run with the big guys.

Yea I am sure The Owner of Jp was pissed off at seeing all these other cars trying to have the style but .. That freaking America making Money off anything 

Example ... Drifting .. I remember this 7 years ago ... Not its Main stream .. and everyone trying to mock in the streets ... awwell ... 

Its good to have the section Vip101 ... I think he was aiming for the support for the newbies .. but in turn kinda bit him self for maybe representing the wrong idea .. But with all being said more to learn ..

Takehiro Taketomi is not the god of Vip, nor is he the only person who can dictate the direction and influence of the style.

If I see another Taketomi quote as proof of something, I'm going to blow a fuse.

I believe he has a UCF-11.

I don't think JP would be mad that the trend has caught on in America.  Even if other companies are trying to make money off the vip scene, from a marketing standpoint, JP would ultimately benefit from it and get customers from a totally new demographic.  It's sortta like how knock-offs actually drive more sales for the original stuff.  I read a whole article on it once, about how LV knockoffs actually boost sales of LV stuff.  The same will apply here.  Besides, I would much rather see cars going towards the trend of VIP tuning than having a bunch of riced out cars on the streets.

No, he's talking about the 'other cars', as in 'auto luxury' cars.

Yeah, I understand that, but I think that people with 'auto luxury' cars are likely to be customers to JP products.  They would probably be the biggest buyers of JP accessories and gears.  No company would complain about getting more business.

Buying a bunch of parts, that don't go on your car, and calling yourself vip=rice. especially, when the biggest sellers from JP are going to be the fusas (until the cheap ones get found in Japan town) and all the little knickknacks  like key chains and pillows....bleh...I don't want to get into it again.

haha, you're really emotional about this scene.  I was just saying man, from a business/corporation standpoint, I just don't think the company would mind that people are buying their stuff.  I understand that it's tacky to try to buy stuff that don't belong on a car and fake the front, but people do it ALL the time.  No matter how mad or fire up you get about it, it'll still happen.  Anyways, you're debating something totally different from the point I was trying to make.

It seems to me that you're shoving words into Mr. Takahiro's mouth.

Also, According to your rant, it seems that you've misplaced the Sentia/929 which is also a VIPCar according to the Japanese who actually perform modifications.

Also, serious Question:

Mr. Takahiro only mentioned that he was leading the way to making VIPstyle a serious business in the United States as well as in Japan. As a matter of fact, he only mentioned VIP Style as in the Style of VIP Cars traditionally modified in Japan; he didn't say that VIP Style was also limited to VIP-Style platforms of Small and Large Wagons.

You're taking whatever you read to all new heights. I'm not flaming you, and I've read that article before you posted it here. I didn't retrieve the "opinion" out of that article that you did.

This thread is counterproductive. an overreaction to an article in an ImportTuner Magazine (if i recall correctly, that is the origin of this article)

in the photo gallery there a threads of, sentias, accords, lexus sc's, previas, odysseys, xb's, and plenty more

i actually think vip influence can make a lot of cars look better. lower, better fitments, and cleaner kits.  they dont have to go all out and try to imitate the whole VIP look, but those aspects will help any modded car.

The boat left without you apparently.  Please do more research into everything.  This thread makes no sense.  Had it been in the main area of the forums it would have been locked long ago.  This forum is about vip style.  If what you're trying to refer to is what I think, then it's what we commonly call EXE or Executive styling.  But the cars are still vip platform cars.  There's a significant difference.  If my Jag was EXE I'd have 19x8/19x9 +38, but I have 19x9/19x10 +6.  We are radiusing my rear fenders so I can ride lower.  If it were EXE there would be no reason to do this.   And in case you hadn't noticed vip isn't a set style..it evolves.  VIp form the 90's is so much different than the current trends.  The style of my aero (Auto Couture) is very current with todays vip styling cues.  In fact, many companies have copied certain aspects of it...which are mostly derived from European cars in the first place.   

I'm very happy that you seem to have a passion for being here and getting involved.  So please don't get me wrong.  I just feel you're in over your head when you try to lay down what you think are the facts.  This isn't a who knows more than who game either.  I'm only relaying to you the knowledge that I share with many others on this forum and that are derived from actual experiences, not articles.  I hope that clears things up and that it's not taken out of context.

I am glad we have so many new enthusiasts, but if we didn't have a vip101 area, then things would go astray and people would get confused.  Sometimes the differences are subtle, sometimes they aren't.  But that's just it, you need to learn what those differences are first...

I Think the Styling Cues from VIP, can be the Pure Essence of Complete Luxury in all Automoblies.
I Dont Think that VIP or VIP Style should be Changed to Admitt other Platforms. 
I Understand and Respect the History and Heritage of VIP.
There should be a Class for those that dont Fit in with VIP or VIP Style.
Lets Call It [B]Automobiles with Luxury [/B]... Auto Luxury???
I Dont Care Lets Just Not Call a Camry or 300c, VIP Style. (I can go On)

You're taking things out of context and simply molding them to suit your needs.  It doesn't work that way...generalized statements are not laws.  They are a more simple way to get a few points across without having to say everything which would take an eternity.  Why can't you just listen to what we're saying??

Why does my sig say what it does?  You having to ask this is what puts us on opposite sides of the fence.  You're taking your info from what one man has said.  That's HIS opinion, it's not written law, but there are certain aspects of that which are accurate for all sides.  Things change over time..did you not read what i wrote? Let me quote my self from a while back on my views:

i dont want to get into the middle of this arguement but for someone who is from cali, i would have bet money you knew the answers to all the questions you are asking. I personally feel that these questions should be coming from someone in the midwest..

Ok this article was brought up loooooooooooong time ago and isnt what Nick said.  Every magazine has an editor that changes up things.  I mean there was an article that said something about yakuza stuff blah blah blah.  The Autoluxury site was put together by Falken to just get peoples thoughts about an auto luxury style here in the states.  its nothing more then what this site is and club lexus put in one.  the site is suppose to be more informative without the BS.  It is slow and its not up to speed and who knows if its going to be here later but its just another forum and its not trying to be better or say they know more.  Clutch one i understand what you are talking about and I do see Elpresidentes point also and they are both valid and well to be honest no one can say where VIP is now and then and who started it because no one knows.  Ask a handfull of japanese people and they will all tell you different things.  VIP is what it is and learning by reading isnt always a good thing but learning by understanding ever aspect of this culture.  Yes its a culture more then just a style so we should all respect that.

Haha, thanks Freddie.  I was almost going to pull my hair out..but then remembered I shave my head...so just like this thread, it would be pointless.

I know this post is closed, but I would like to chime in.  I read this very late so I may be out of context as well and I apologize for that if I am.

When I wrote that, I wrote that the moment I started VSC in 2003.  Yes, 2003.  (Can't believe its been that long) That was a damn long time ago.  I was just trying to decipher what VIP while I was in the middle of my GS build up.  Has times changed?  I think so, especially for the US market.  We don't have the luxury of having the wide format of "acceptable" VIP Cars so we must learn to adapt and create pretty much our own definition without bastardizing some sort of foundation.  Any one can come up with any term and give it some definition.  I am pretty sure I never coined the phrase "VIP Style Cars" but I had my own take on it.  This forum was never created so we can argue about it, this forum was created so people can share their ideas and styles as well as learn from each other.  I understand everyone's valid points but at the same time, our definition will always evolve in regards to VIP cars / VIP Style Cars.  Of course we will have our purists and those trying to force an evolution.  We need each other to be honest.  We need those who will stay cookie cutter (lol me) or those willing to push the envelope and create a build thats not highly accepted.  Either way, we should all learn to accept all views whether its a VIP car by default or a car with VIP style cues.  

Should we update our FAQs and stickys?  Probably a good idea.  Will I ever get around to doing it?  I hope so, but I am behind in so many things as it is :(
