are these equips considered VIP?

sorry i dont know the name of these, but im planning to get these because i need new tires, and when i get new tires, it means im have to stick with the current set of wheels for awhile.

im planning to bag my ride soon, and the wheels i have currently are way too flush for my comfort so i want to switch to a higher offset.

ive seen these on a VIP TSX here and i thot it really set off the car.

what do you guys think about this set for vip status or even semi vip :biggthumpup: 


keep in mind i have a TL and i dont think huge face wheels will work too well. im lookiing at thiner spokes like the SL. although they are a little out of my range currently.


any other suggestions for wheels on a TL?

nope, thats a pretty 'sporty' rim....

The only way you can rock equips and have them be vip is with some low offset and wide width ones.  They used to be used on the more aggressive old school vip cars though.  On a TL I'd say they're very period wrong.  Here's an example of them done right on an older style vip car:

Yeah would be sick on late 80's early to mid 90's VIP cars...

i think that they are right on the edge off sporty/vip if done right. pres summed it up pretty well:

Equips are always of both worlds

just like professors and meisters. you guys may say they are sporty, but there are a SHIT ton of vip cars with them here

just like mesh wheels...some say its too sporty but there is allot of vip cars w/ them..its just the way you pull it off.

Are those step lipped Equips???

I'm no guru, but I would agree that they are both worlds and the distinguishing factor would be the lip and width.  when they are wide with a huge Lip they are plenty VIP, but when they are in a small size and lip they are a little more sporty.... IMHO

I don't think they will make your car look more VIPstyled if thats what you are going for.

Equips/Meisters and other quality sporty wheels look good on VIPcars with the right fitment.  They usually are true VIPcars with stance and other supporting mods so they can pull it off.

On a non-traditional car, all the more reason to get a full face wheel if you want VIPstyling.  IMO

I agree with elpres about the time period being wrong.

Past the mid-nineties, Equips look anachronistic to me.

I know, there's that 350Z with them, but there's exceptions to every rule.

All in all, I don't think they're a good choice for a TL. But then, again, maybe you could do something awesome with them and a TL, who knows.

hey, what do you mean by step. i notice there is a little difference in the spokes in the 2 wheels i posted. Are they different models? correct me if im wrong
