3M the Exterior ...

How many of you have done this ?  I was wanting to but I don't think I want to pay 1300.00 ... thats for the front bumper , side piece of fenders

Any one know of a place that does it cheaper ?  also .. I hate rock chips .. But I don't think this will be the kit for life .. so still not sure what to do .. 

Nice 3 rock chips added to the car from 2 weekends ago .. on the freeway for Hmmm 2 exits ... pretty pissed :saiyancrunks:but just trying to get an idea from the VSC land

Whats the average length of you keeping your kit ? 

worthed ? or just 3M blue tape it for shows ?  

Other wise I don't drive the lex much at all ..

if you want to avoid rock chips, get stone guard added to the bumper before it's painted. it'll just have an orange-peel effect. many manufacturers do it to all their cars and it doesn't look too bad

Yo James! My friend put some on his ride, and it works great! However, to my knowledge it comes precut (not for aftermkt) and was a B!tc# to put on. I just washed my car, and now have multiple chips. Must've happend during the rain.:pat:

it can be bulk done.  i had my jp bumper done, but pulled it off cuz i didnt like it.  we used to do clearbra but it isnt a perfect science.  we used 3M and it never looked perfect. none of the other brands do either.  it does work for rock chips though.  i just hated seeing it on my car.  if you do get it done 3M and avery look the best on black cars.

I know there was a company that made a spray on type. Applied like clearcoat. basically a harder more durable clearcoat I guess you can say. It was formulated and advertised to prevent rockchips, not to sure how well it works though. I'll try and find out what company it was.

i have it, it came with my car though, imo...it looks like shit. but i drive almost 100 miles a day, and thats all freeway driving. so its staying on.

Hmm keep all that in mind ... I guess if worst came to worse just mob the car and put a small sticker on the bottom lip area and say DAILY DRIVEN .. and get resprayed later in the future if still have this kit ..

i drive pretty low and only have rock chips on the lower portion of my jp bumper.  but i dont really hit the freeway with my car, unless its to a show or meet.

put it this way, i took it off my car cause i dont like the way it looks.  and we can install the stuff ourselves.  and i have 3M and llumar PPF (paint protection film) in stock here just chillin.  so basically i can do it on my own car for free, but choose not to.

got cha .. Esp for black ... What would you say the time line is for this stuff ?  I was sure if i have it at my finger tips I would have wrapped the whole car ...

all that that you just said, i took as, i dont want it on cause its fkn ugly.
