Security System: Answer-Call back

As the japanese call it, the tone that is made when you arm your security system.

I ran across this lady one time with a pretty ratty Mazda MX3, she hit the alarm and it had an Answer Callback like a BMW or SAAB. That high-pitched "WEE-ooh WEE-ooh". I stopped her and asked her what alarm system she installed but she didn't know. She bought the car with it installed already. Annoy.

Okay, so my question is, is there anyway i can find this system? I have been looking for it for the last year and haven't turned up any leads. Asked other people and they think I'm crazy.

Figured i'd ask the guys who knew if there was something like that in Japan.

LoL, most of the "Answer back" systems in Japan are just that... i.e. no alarm features except remote locking, and then the chirp so that people go "oooh look he can make his car go cheep cheep!"
 
I would recommend going to some car audio or car security forums (if the exist) and asking there. Different brands have different noises and the one you described might be a signature sound of one brand...

Okay, Did some digging and i think i may have found what i'm looking for.

It's called the "Wolf Whistle" siren for BMWs. I'm not sure if that's the technical name for other alarms, but if the siren works like other sirens for car alarms, it's only got one tone and the power sent to it is a constant and it operates on and Off, so a chirp is two short on pulses....

Good work on finding it! Now that you mention it, yes the alarm tone is dictated by the siren. By the looks of things you might be able to just get a used siren from a BMW owner - they seem not to like them!!

Some modern alarms have digital sirens though, so you would need to check if its compatible (mine is a 5 wire signal with a shock sensor built into the siren)
