shopping in tokyo for parts any info

I'm looking for some used jdm stuff. Been to the autobacs in Daiba, but they didn't have any used parts. Going to try to hit up the one by the airport. The prices on new stuff here is crazy expensive compare to the states. My Girl brought some dior stuff and the mark up was double seem like the prices on parts are expensive too.

By the way I'm in Roppongi Hills if anyone is interesting in hitting up some places. I brought a one way ticket to japan so I'll be here for a bit:biggthumpup:

Crazy expensive is right...  rent is 2700 good thing I split it with my girl.  But this city rocks so it's  worth it, the style is insane.   I been to hardrock, but I'm craving a nice big steak.  It's so hard to come by, so sick of noodles.  Went to a a all u can eat and drink crab place in Ginza for 40 bucks hella of a deal tonight.  

I still would like to go parts shopping wanna meet up? It's so hard to get over the language barrier.  Plus not having a car sucks.  I'm going to nagano to ride some POW tomorrow but if anyone is interested in helping a bro find some parts lunch is on me?  Plus I live next to some of the hottest euro models ever, I'll hook it up.=)

Hangon, you moved to Japan with your girl, without any knowlege of the place (Japan is actually quite cheap when you move away from the tourist traps), no language, and by the sounds of it no appreciation for their food?

I have a appreciation for the food but it does get old after awhile.  I like Roppongi hills sure it's a little pricey but seeing a f430 parked outside my complex is priceless.  I'm sure cost of living does get cheaper outside Tokyo but I'm just here wasting time enjoying my youth.

I just got done with law school and the timing was right to leave the states for a minute.  My girlfriend has been working here since dec, but we have no plans on staying here.  Great city, amazing people, great culture but in the end of the day there no place like home.

Ah well in that case i envy you.

Wow that place looks awesome exactly what I was looking for, thanks again Dominik for your advice. Do you travel to japan often, any advice on how to shipped large items like wheels back to the states?

Why don't you have him take the train down to you grant. Then take him around our area. There's like 5 or 6 second hand parts shops by where you live, 3 alone on shinomakaido! 4 if you include Big Foot!!!

p.s. Of all the great places to eat in Japan you recommend Hard Rock!?! C'mon bro!!!

I have been to Japan a few times, but mostly just post back stuff that fits in regular boxes. For larger items i have to get help from one of the many importers that bring containers full of parts back to Australia.

Pepper lunch is awesome, but IMO nothing beats a traditional Sushi restaurant

I remember going to TOkyo Bay AutoBacs and they had no clue where to get used parts was strange. Even more interesting was the random hot chick who worked in the garage changing oil that spoke good english.:biggthumpup:

I'll vouch for that! We went to so many shops when i visited Grant... 'twas very cool. Then he posted a pic of me with my butt hanging out on the internet and we havent spoken since! :D

Sweet thanks for helping out a newbie, don't worry I got the tab. I'm just a car freak, been to a couple of clubs but it's pretty much the same anywhere else.  I just can't get over the fact that everyone here dresses up to the hilt, even if it's just to go grab a bite.  I feel like I have to go buy a suit and get a cool hair cut=)   

I'm currently in sapporo until next week but I"ll be in around for a while so I'll PM u once I get back.  Thanks again for looking out.  I have a gs430 and a s2000 that needs some love.
