Vespa Forum vs ClubLexus :(

im cutting and pasting because details arent clear.....
 
During a Club Lexus drive, someone took a corner VERY fast and hit a Vespa rider :sad:

"Just talked to someone who was on the ride and he described the accident as a young early 20's kid driving an Lexus SC300 50-55mph around a 25mph turn loosing control, locking his brakes up and skidding into the on coming lane hitting Josh head on. Josh was on his Green Laser (not leading but in the middle of the pack) which was thrown some 100 yards backwards and down into a ravine. Both car and scooter are totaled. "

Said the driver didn't even bother to get out and check on the guy he hit, just sat in his car the whole time.

Agree with you. Has the guy on scooters OK?

I see what your saying but atleast blurr out the plate numbers.  He might not want that on the net.

plus, that car is finished...plates dont really mean much anymore :(

em I think your jumping the gun here... I heard a very different story and I dont think its fair to post someone else's speculations.

no room for specualtion in matter like this. no matter what happened and who was at fault the scooter guy is in my prayers. a car is a car but that scooter dude (josh) didn't stand a chance.

Yeah Em, people are saying a lot of stuff. Everything from him being drifting, to the cars braking system malfunctioning causing him to not be able to brake. Speeds from 25mph to 60mph. 
 
It's all bad, but the vespa forum demanding compensation from club lexus was retarded. It's one thing when we help them out cuz of the situation and the fact the guy got hit, yeah it sucks. It's another to go out and start demanding compensation to pay for his medical bills and the fact that he will not be able to work etc etc. It's not our fault he doesn't have that situated. It's not our fault he was hit on a scooter, which every rider takes a chance everytime they ride. 
 
He's lucky to be alive, he should be thankful for that. I'm glad people are helping him out too. The vespa forum just went the wrong way and got too heated though.
 
Like the admins/mods at CL said, leave it up to the police report.

The vehicle locked completely up and slid like it was on glass. Car's do not slow down when they are sliding, that is something we all know. Therefore there was hardly no loss of speed approaching the corner with the wheels locked up. This was a catastrophic failure in the braking system.[/I]

Someone simply cant drive if thats the case and shouldnt be behind the wheel of a modded car. 
catastrophic failure in the braking system?? you can lose braking but they wont lock up like that. 
 
 
If youre braking in a corner, you cant drive...
if you do hit your brakes and they make the car slide...you were going too fast for that 30mph road.
 
and for the record...things [I]slow down[/I] as they slide. :pat: 
 
even if by some [I]act of god[/I] the car did 'lock up' (which they dont)...he was going too fast if he couldnt steer out of it. Got the Drifter look, drifter plate frame...but not the most important part. 
 
They can sell that[I] story[/I] to someone who doesnt know anything about cars.

been there with the Drifting accidents and lucky that no one was ever hurt besides my pride and cars. 
 
 
Also, It seems to me like the guy was in shock and didnt get out of the car right away.:sad: I probably would be the same way if I had just ran over someone like that.

I dont care what anyone says i hate street racers because a good friend of mine got killed by stoopid street racers.  I use to be a street racer back in the days but when i started taking it to the track friend dies!!!!!!!!!!!!!  Keep the shit on the track period!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

saw the thread on cl.. sucks for both parties. i cant imagine what that would feel like (guy on scooter). im speculating, but im sure the guy in the sc is at fault. him staying in the car the whole time says a lot about his character.

i dont think brakes would fail that bad in a situation like this.
i would feel like shit if i hit someone, actually, i would go kill myself if it happened.

and true. people should learn how to drive there car before, during, after modifications, and take it to courses instead.

He was probably in shock thinking he had jus killed someone and couldnt 'mentally' get out of the car :sad: 
 
My heart goes out to the scooter rider but I do feel bad (a little) for the SC owner as well....

they set up a pay pal donation account for that josh vespa guy 
last time i checked, they've raised over $6,000 for him...

I met the guy in the sc  at two meets and his brother .. .. hes a coo guy . but damn .. can't imagine what hes going through now ... 

Esp. because accidents happen each and everyday but this one has been posted on many forums ... kinda terrible

Driving is a privledge w/ great responsability. Adhearing to the laws protect lives and create a safe enjoyable experience for all those on the roadways. Any experienced driver and/or auto enthusiest knows the limitations of roadway conditions and of your own vehicle(s). Irresponsability and negligence causes these kinds of situations IMO. GL to the scooter dude!

what a douche.  he didnt even get outta the car to see if that dude was alright.   I wish he was the one that got hit on a scooter,...see how that feels buddy!

in the pic he doesnt look very remorseful. id be shocked myself but i would have the decency to get out of the car. by the looks of his primer kit, driftunit frame, and how he handles himself, you can guess hes immature and irresponsible.  

not that he did it on purpose, its still an ACCIDENT and they happen every day, but he handled it all wrong. not to mention 'accusations' of a majority of CL members on the cruise taking pictures and stirring sh*t up before lending a helping hand(everyone seems to do this nowadays, when theres something tragic happening 3/4 of the people rubberneck or take pictures/video while the other 1/4 try to actually help the situation). im sure that made more scooter owners steaming over the situation.

Anyway none of us were there and we'll never know. i just hope the guy that got hit is doing okay. 


on a sidenote..after reading all those scooter forums, half of those guys are idiots. half of them never heard the term drifting before and their speculations are retarded. you can tell a majority never owned a car and dont know the basics of automobiles and the laws of physics. just my 2 cents.

That's why it all should just be left up to the Police Reports. 

Both are totally fucked in this situation. Both for a while to come. accidents like this cake forever to be forgotten, and may never be.
