B'ham, Alabama. Anyone?

what's goin' on ya'll? Anyone in the forums anywhere near Birmingham, AL? I know i don't drive a VIP car, but I am an enthusiast of the scene. i can't afford a VIP car yet. but i'd like to see some VIP cars around town. I've seen plenty of VIP platform cars, but the ones that are modded only have 20" wheels and call it a day. i sorta can't blame them though w/ all the hills and potholes around here. do i need to move away from AL?

not really. i want there to be a VIP scene in birmingham. right now it's that stupid-ass dub and donk junk. i'm a mini-trucker w/ a VIP heart. but yeah, birmingham doesn't have good roads. we have a ton of potholes and steep hills. i also see a lot of dropped civics and celicas and small 4 banger tuners. we also have a lot of lifted trucks. i saw a guy the other day w/ a UCF10 and it had 20s just thrown on there. it looked like he was going for dub style. he was lucky i didn't have a gun. but the only true VIP car around is a guy w/ an M45 and it's lowered and clean w/ good fitment. i dunno if he's on the site or not. but i think he works at a tattoo shop. i might need to pay him a visit sometime and get him on the site. but overall, there's a good custom car scene in the area, but not a stong VIP scene. i think too many people are worried about getting their shit jacked. after all, we are the 3rd most dangerous city in the U.S.

i wouldn't go vip in Birmingham, cause i wouldn't want to get jacked. What side of the b'ham do you live?

i live in the suburbs about 30 miles away from the city. crime is drastically lower in the southern suburbs of Birmingham. if anyone knows anything about the Hwy 280, Hoover, Vestavia, and Mountain Brook areas near Birmingham, then those areas are fine to go VIP in. i've seen Lambos and Ferraris around town. Vettes all day long. like i said, plenty of non-modded VIP platforms, but nobody around here knows much of the VIP scene. i've only seen a couple of modded VIP cars. but i think they were going DUB style which thoroughly pisses me off. Lexus and Infiniti cars are luxury cars. DUB is just trashy and sleazy to me. trashy and sleazy don't belong w/ VIP platforms

The roads in AL are garbage. I use to run the hwy on weekends going to the street races. Good luck with it though.

where in the suburbs?

Helena. it's just south of Hoover a little. it's crammed b/t Hoover, Pelham, Alabaster, and Bessemer. it's really nice in Helena. it was rated as #70 or so on the Top 100 best places to live in America. not a whole lot of crime out my way. it's mostly just minor drug charges or copper theft. nothing violent though

oh, thats not reallly b'ham then. you don't nothing to worry about way out there.

yeah, not much at all to worry about. i'm almost in the sticks. i live more towards the main part of the town

haha, i have a funny story about that. back in high school i was known as b-rad by a couple guys in school that did dress and talk like that. and on the nights on the weekends, i'd take my mom's car out (too poor to get me a car of my own) and it was a 2000 chevy malibu which those same guys called it the bu. so i was b-rad w/ the bu. not quite how i imagined my last couple years of high school

i live in helena and go to uab.  roads are awful downtown, but they "say" they are going to repave, but i seriously doubt it.  Im surprised you havnt seen my car; white 2nd gen gs, lowered, 20's, led tails.  ill post pics when i get home.  i know the guys brother that owns the m45, there family owns the nail place.

i also have a silver mkiii supra that i havnt driven in two years.  dunno if you have seen either one.

Yeah the roads in b'ham suck back, and in certain places the roads flood when it rains.

this is true. but in some parts, the roads are great and recently repaved. it's getting better out here. where Supra and i are, the roads are pretty good, we just gotta stay in the rich areas. i.e. Vestavia, Hoover, Pelham, Helena, Mountain Brook, and the northern part of Chelsea out on hwy 280. well, 280 in general is pretty good, all the way from Mtn Brook to Auburn is pretty well maintained and the roads are great

hello to anyone out there that is listening. i am starting a car club for the birmingham area. we don't have an official club yet, but we do have a couple guys showing up. we meet on the 1st and 3rd fridays of every month. it's not a strictly VIP club, but it's a club for everyone of all styles. we're all car guys (and some gals too). we're just getting together and hanging out and having fun. we meet at 7:30 in the Bruno's parking lot closest to the Johnny Rockets in the Summit shopping center on hwy 280 just off i-459. i hope to see some people from this site show up

well i have more info for anyone interested in an upcoming car show. i know it's short notice, but there's a car show at the Birmingham Raceway in Irondale, AL this Sunday (May 3) at noon. supposed to be a sweet afterparty or something. it's the 95.7 Jamz 5th Annual Car and Bike Show. it's mostly donks, but there were a couple very slightly modded VIPcars out there that weren't even part of the show last year. i talked to the owners of the cars and they didn't have a clue about VIPstyle. anyone w/ VIPcars wanna come out to educate?
