Okay heres the deal i've been looking into these wheels and i really like a few styles that they offer but heres my dilema.....are these wheels considered cheap,knockoff wannabe V.I.P starter rims?

AME isnt a copy of any of the designs. It has similar to a twist but doesnt make it a knock off of WEDS. AME wheels are produced by ENKEI witch makes alot of wheels for other companies in japan. Alot of wheel companies have similar things. If you put them close to each other its not the same. I cant say about all there designs but they are quality product that has been tested and proven. Not everyone is going to like a wheel company but if you like it go for it.

I would say AME are decent respected wheel. Definitely not in the Top 5 brands, but still alright.

River-Side, Super Star, Auto Couture, Junction Produce, Amistad, SSR (Vienna, Fabulous), Weds, Work. I mean dont get me wrong I like AME wheels, I think they have some pretty good designs even I would roll on them. But I just wouldn't put them in my Top 5. Thats just my opinion :P

I still like their designs whether "copied" or not...i'm just gonna wait and get wheels i really want instead of rushing into buying wheels just to so i can have wheels on my car....hell i only had my car for 20 days but rolling stock sux!!!
I agree with Elite. AME wheels are nice. They look great on Pancakes' car. I've had a set of LX, now I have a couple AX kicking around. I have put my Weds and AME AX side by side and the Weds have details that set them apart. One of the biggest problems is the price. AME wheels are pretty cheap compared to the other brands listed due to them being 2 piece. Combine that with easier access to them in North America and they are becoming more common. If you want a wheel that is more exclusive, don't get AME wheels.

You wont really notice in pics but in person you can tell which is the more expensive wheel by the details. If your going for a more simple design and dont need a 3 peice wheel since your offsets and widths are not that big, then AME is perfect for you.
i like them, we sell alot of them here in hawaii.

im thinking of getting a set of AME's as a back up (i switch sets of wheels often) im personally a fan. good style and good price= cant go wrong:biggthumpup:

My brother has a pair ... They are pretty sick looking but I understand the detail part you guys have mentioned ... I would be able to tell the diff between the pair of weds and ame ... Yakoda ... cheaper not cheap ... still 2000.00 ish a set ... no 1200ish a set ..

I agree that they are low in cost, but they're not a 3 piece forged wheel, which is why the higher brands usally cost more and I can atest that these wheels (at least mine) are STRONG as hell!!!! I've hit some nasty bumps and they're still good as NEW! =) FINALLY- No one on this fourm is VIP god or know it all and has the final say as too what's VIP or not! Grant is in his own world and has his own way of doing things and Elepres has jus been doin this for awhile now! Neither one should be anybodies goal or motivation to get accepted by! Do you SON! yokota's I don't think you know what u are talking about. the bazeria and the wx's are completely different styles, the only similarities they share are them being 6 spokes.
and theirs tons of other examples.... its not fair to label a company a knock off company due to the similarities between one of their wheel models...

ugh EVERYONE makes a DH lookalike they haev for like 20 years my gripe is all the newer companies that knockoffo stuff the Euroline DH, SSR Vienna shit is copied by everyone from Wald to work
