my ka9 with gulf stitch rims

wutup i picked up my ka9 about a month ago..was lookin to get a y33 but the rl caught my eye. I havent seen too many ppl out there push the limits as far as offsets go. Well my buddy had some gulf stich rims 18x10 +10. I decided to test fit them to get a feel what i could run...so on with the pix

whats up buddy, first of all take the rubber pretection off the rear fender well, your gonna rust your body. 2nd that rim just aint gonna work for our cars. 3rd imo the rims dont fit the luxury your car has. 4th my opinion doesnt count since its your car i support anyone with a ka9. where are you from?

GORGEOUS! Thank you for pushing the envelop...

once again, if you need info on Camber adjustments check out SPC

http://www.spcperformance.com/PROD_DIR/SPCPerf_PROD_SEARCH_DYN.cfm?cmd=Cam&cmd2=67090&cmd3=

You can modify those to get a bit more camber and set them right! I'm excited!

EDIT:

http://vipstylecars.com/forums/showthread.php?t=1727

If he made those fit, you can make these fit.

They're more designed for people who want to correct negative camber, but they can be modified to achieve more camber as per Yokotas' suggestion.

In their "factory direct" ability, you are supposedly afforded 2 degrees of negative camber adjustment and 4 degrees of positive. you could play with it until you get however much you need and/or want.

Nice another KA9 owner going VIPstyle.

It says they will give you up to 2 deg neg camber. Your gonna need a combination of negative camber, stretch and a pull to fit those! You might be better off with some custom shortened upper arms.

This is 19x8.5 +28 in the rear. Yours will protrude 36mm more.

LoL, i looked at the pictures and thought "hey my wheels looked kinda like that when i fitted them with stock camber!"

My fenders arent pulled at all, just completely flat and of course I added extra camber

Cant wait to see how this turns out!

hey guys just thought id update this..well someone hit my car in the parking lot while i was at work dont know who, it was a hit and run. Theres a huge dent on the rear driverside quarter pannel right by the gas tank . Im going to be sending the car to the body shop to get it fixed and while its there its giving me the insentive to go ahead and finnaly get these wheels fitted! The goal is to be able to drive tsurachi and lay frame parked. No kit for me as i always liked the classic style of the 99+rl.

That is my delima as well. I would rather not use a kit but I may have to get rid of the 20's to achieve that.

I look forward to seeing the car with the wheels on it. Hopefully it's not too long from now!

I had 10's on my RL about a year ago. offset was +40 though. I wasn't trying to reshape the fenders to do anything more negative. It's totally possible though. I want to say his are in the mid 20 range.

This is great...

I see a nice trend going down here in the States with FWD cars getting aggressive... I'm glad to be part of it...

Should look dope when completed...

PS: I hope you have enuff room in the front bumper for those LS600/460 fogs... Because they are HUGE... you'll need a lot of rear clearance at least 8 to 10 inches...

Good LUck and I can't wait to see this fitted...

since we might be rl related i thought id try to help out..lol cus your build is probly goning to be on a new level like all your rides are. On the wheel situation they stick out about 38mm. so im gonna be needeing a pretty aggressive pull or alot of negative camber which i dont want to do..not tryna go for the broken look

Yeah, a good pull will be an understatement. I would have loved to run something in the low 20's but wasn't willing to do the work needed to the car. I'm a puss, I know. haha

i was concidering doin a weaker offset too...cus i didnt wanna put the work into this, But since im sending it into the body shop i figured i might aswell do it...thing is that naturally the rl dosnt have a nice body flare in the rear fenders so it will be toughf making it look stock and smooth.

yeah opsi, that is one of my favorites right there without a doubt. that rear fender work is sick. i just dont like the different size wheels its running. 19's up front and 20's in the rear. its bad enough for me that different offsets sometimes make a car look like a dually, but putting different sizes should be left to the hot rods imo.

can't wait to see it man...i think up to about 7-8 degrees of negative camber would be permissible before you're not even putting the outside tread on the ground anymore.

I'd shoot for maybe 6-7 degrees total. (with camber kit and natural suspension adjustment)

Yeah, I would love to run more camber but since my car is a daily still I can't do it. I need to find a beater Civic then I will get a bit more aggressive on the wheels and camber.
