ANOTHER STICKER QUESTION....

IYO Opinion. At what point would you consider putting a brand sticker on your car? When you've spent a certain amt of money, if so how much? If you've equipped your ride w/ certain particular parts, if so which ones? Sponsorship is a no brainer....If your not into stickers pls be mature about your comments thx.:thelaw:

This is my issue with stickers:

1. It can be a shopping list of a parts to steal off your car.

2. %95 of people who give a shit about the mods you have can tell what they are by looking at them (or using a little

3. The entire stigma that surrounds stickers (think honda people) is enough to turn me away from it.

4. It detracts from the car.

The only sticker i've ever rocked was a shocker sticker. Every so often someone will honk or wave and throw up the shocker.

I see your point, but i'm sorry if I was a bit broad about the question. I was pertaining to VIP products: Mode Parfume, J.Produce, DAD(garson), Aimgain...etc...and not so much the Spocom gaudy F&F scene......We @ VSC y'know!

The only sticker i would ever rock is a company sticker that i am involved with ect.

Or, if im going with a style of setup from a brand such as JP or Garson ect, then i would rock their stickers or emblem.

But useless stickers such as a row of brands to show off what you got, is stupid.

I'm rocking the JP large windshield and rear window stickers because I think they look attractive. Not only that, but I do plan on JP'ing my car out since I'm partial to their product for some reason.

What I said goes to VIP brands as well. If anything thats even more confusing as its brands like "DAD" or "Junction Produce" "Mode Parfume" most people don't have ANY idea what those are and it just gets more confusing.

I say stick them to stuff at your place like on a alarm clock, grinder, george foreman grill, bong....

Windsheild stickers are diffirent though

i have been thinking about this recently. i put a small Junction Produce sticker on my windsheild above my MF DOOM and Upper Playground ones. I didn't do it because i have any JP stuff or really plan on getting any, it's just so that even though my car is stock at the moment...you know what i have in store. some people may say it's poserish...but as soon as i start to mod it's coming off. it's sort of a place holder.

my opinion of stickers and VIP is that if you have a certain amount of items from any one company on your car, you should probably be getting an emblem instead of a sticker. i think it fits in more with the VIP ideals.

I hate stickers, takes away for the apperance of the ride. Makes the ride look like it belongs to a kid. Only time I rock them is if I have scratches behind the sticker that I would like to cover for the time being. Like a crack on the bottom of a windshield or key marks on a fender lol.

Just get badges, those give the car a classy appearance when not over done. I wouldnt rock a badge if you dont have parts from that company though.

It all depends on the owner. You should put the sticker on your car if you support the brand no matter if you have one or more mods from that particular company. All the sticker shows is that you support them. I mean don't put stickers on this forum just because the community tells you it is the right thing to do. Do it because you support the brand.

dude, i said "sort of" a place holder. i'm not putting that sticker there because i plan on taking it off and taping a JP Fusa to the outside of my windshield. it's just there to say "hey, i like JP, and eventually this car is gonna be VIP'd."

putting 180 emblems on a 240 is backasswards no matter if you have an SR in it or not...unless it rolled off the assembly line with the steering wheel on the right and RPS13 stamped on its chassis it then it will never be a 180.

stickers should only be put on if the car has the mods to support it. putting tein stickers on a cars that doesn't have suspension work is rice...

putting a sticker on to rock a company that you don't even have any products is like just buying stickers and putting it on your ride to look cool = fail at life.

It's like those people who buy gtr badges or sir or type R badges and throw them on their ride, just because they like the badge.

faking the funk will only get you laughed at.

so, should i look into seeing if Upper Playground makes car parts and start car pooling with MF DOOM? it'd probably be a good idea to not put any sports teams stickers on my car being as i don't play for them. i'm not in any bands either...guess those are out too.

that's a whole other level of denial. these people want to own cars they can never get. someone wants and Integra Type R and all they can get is an RSX Type S...so they go out and get a Type R body kit and emblems and tell everyone that the left hand drive and tan leather interior is custom. putting performance stickers/emblems on a car and it not being tuned is a lot different than putting a sticker of a company who makes everything from candy to body kits. i do have a JP poster sitting in front of me...does that make it ok to have the sticker on my car now?

what you're saying here is that i should go home, set my car on fire and then down a bottle of sleeping pills becuase my life is pointless due to the fact that i made a grave error in judgment by putting a 2"x2" sticker on my car that i could never possibly scrape off. how am i supposed to explain this to my family and friends? i hope they will understand that people who throw opinions around on message boards like they are the defining voice of car tuning have such a huge impact in my soon to be finished life. i hope i remember to let them know to send you a thank you note for helping rid the world of a failure.

Yos, the official answer is that you do what you want w/ your ride, stickers are there to represent something that hold personal value. Wheather you have products or not, your doin' your own thing and showin' that you have interest in a company/band/slogan enough to advertise for them. The truth is that we are not the labels we put on our cars, we are just part of the marketing world sharing our interest w/ everyone else. If you don't like it then don't hang out with us to see our angles, just critisize us from the safety of your views and/or opinions...:thelaw:

I would rock a JP front windshield Decal...and those little side view mirror JP decals...(the ones that say objects may appear closer than they are)..........

Some of you folks got into talking about car badges/emblems.......Shiat I have a Cima rear trunk Emblem (badge) on my car and its not a TRUE CIMA???? ...I have Cima script decals on my rear L/R side windows and and Swarovski Crystal Custom Cima script on my dash and you know what its still not a true CIMA..???? I do what I want with my car to my taste and likings and not others..I do occasionally ask for opinions just to see what folks think but I don't care if some of you folks don't like it, you don't have to drive my car or like it....

Point is do what you want...can't please everybody especially on this forum.. I think we all have our own ideas on how or what VIP should be...

Yeah i think it's all personal preference. If the sticker represents a brand that manufactures car parts or accessories then yeah i believe you should have their products present on the vehicle. But if it represents a band/team/clothing brand you're into then it's all preference. That part pretty much expresses your personality.

As for me i think stickers are coo. I rock whatever i feel. I also rock stickers to help support products and/or shops. If i could i'd rock a "Hundreds" sticker but i don't currently have one. Haha.

Stickers don't make or break your car being VIP or VIPstyled.

As for me i think stickers are coo. I rock whatever i feel. I also rock stickers to help support products and/or shops. If i could i'd rock a "Hundreds" sticker but i don't currently have one. Haha.

Stickers don't make or break your car being VIP or VIPstyled.

augdogg, its your ride do as you want. at the end of the day it doesn't matter what people say. i have stickers all over my car, but that is to keep my sponsers happy, but if i had a choice, i'd run w/o decals.

i wish i could find a Mishka sticker or two for my Q. i have some King Stampede ones, but i don't think they are waterproof so they are reserved for laptops and turntables.

i think we all tend to lose sight of this on this forum. if everyone followed "rules" then we wouldn't have car tuning in the first place. we can all agree to varying degrees about what looks good and what doesn't or what is VIP and what isnt VIP, but unless you are the one who bought the car, paid for the mods and is driving it around...your opinion doesn't really mean sh*t (no matter how bad the car looks).

as far as automotive stickers, rocking stickers on stuff you don't have is poserish. why do it? hence the fail at life comment.

It's like rocking and hks power sticker, just because it looks cool, and i mean, SOMEDAY i'll have some hks stuff on my car, but not right now.

again, if you've got the mods to support it, then rep the companies. that's all. don't cry about it, but there's no point in stickers if you don't have the mods.

word. rocking stickers of parts brands you don't have is lame. rocking bands/teams/clothing isn't tasteful in my opinion (don't take it personally), but its not as bad. rocking club affiliations or brands that you own products from is cool (assuming they look classy). emblems own everything.

thanks for lumping me into the same category as drug addicts, criminals and George W. Bush. it's funny though, i don't feel like a failure as i have a wife i love, a job i love doing, great friends and i drive around in a $50k car (sticker on it or not). if you think putting a sticker on a car negates all my accomplishments in life and i'm a failure...then there are greater things in life that you need to be worrying about than who is putting what stickers on their cars.

and last time i checked...the Junction Produce website indicates that they make more than just car parts, so i don't have to only have a car part from them to rock their sticker. the sticker itself is a product designed to be put on whatever the person who purchases it desires. they don't only come in the box with whatever car parts they make.

if you're just expressing your opinion i'm not going to take offence...it's when people like Caoboy throw in disses that i take offence.

i'm done defending my decision about what i do to my car and i think we have steered far from augdoggs original post. it's his post, lets stick to that subject and like he says...keep it mature.

This is very interesting thread and everyone has a valid point, but the most important is that its your car and you can do whatever you feel is right. I am going to be using a combination of stickers and emblems because I feel they go with the theme of my car and also I really support the company I chose to go with ..Some people may like it and others wont but in the end its my car and really only my opinion counts. Now as for those who just put stickers on their car just because they like the brand , isnt a bad thing but it will look ridiculous to have several brands of stickers and not any of the products..By doing this you have turned your car into a rolling sticker book..:pat:

Lighten up a bit guys

While we all have our own views (asked for or not) there should always be mutual respect amongst members here. Something that people tend to forget in the 'heat of the moment'....myself included

And That was a really nice way of saying "Enough with the drama" :) Please stop hijacking his thread with personal issues. Take it to PM
