Wheel Well Paint

anyone paint their wheel wells? If so, what did you use?

my wheel well is dull and dusty. even after a pressure wash. so i'm thinking of painting it. i was thinking of using por-15, but don't know much about it other than google.. or even maybe use rhino liner  type stuff..  


any suggestions would be appreciated.

they do make an vehicle under-body spray you can buy at your local auto parts store.. just power wash your fender wells and get the dirt out and spray that stuff in there, looks like OEM undercoating.

Yep, rubberized undercoating...they make about 4-5 different finishes...gotta find the undercoating  that will best match the oem finish...

rubberized under coating is what you are looking for. por-15 is more for rust repair. you can also use liquid sound deadeners as an upgrade.

Por-15 is very expensive to use as a full undercoating, though it has been done.

A combination of Por-15 to protect vulnerable areas, and rubberized undercoating is best. If you want, you can even get a paintable undercoating.

A member here named socalsc4 has colored wheel wells, unfortunatley he deleted all his old pics but the thread still remains...

if you want that nice clean fresh brand-new black plastic look use some Plasti*kote brand trim black spray paint.

Its really easy to spray on, it won't run easily or look spotty.
I think that would look better to have a smooth clean surface than a rubberized wrinkle finish.

Rubberized finish isn't that wrinkly if you put it on smoothly. On my silver car, you have to look at it to notice that it is a textured finish. Also, the fact that it is rubberized is what protects against stone chips.

When you want a rough texturized finish, shoot about 2 feet away and use dry, light coats...and let it flash for a couple minutes...if you want a smooth finish, spray medium heavy about 1 foot away...and make sure you tape off your fenders in case you have bad aim :)
