Tint or No Tint?

got a good deal at hot spot w/t in chula vista and i was wondering what would look good on my brown ride? i was thinking 10% or even higher window tint on all 7 windows or even a bronze tint to match the exterior color? right now i have 2 sets of garson curtains and i want it to be visible still from a couple feet away but still have some dark grey tint. what do you guys think?

heres a pic of the see through windows without the curtains.

I dont like tint myself only reason it makes the cops more prone to looking at you because they think your hiding something. If i was to tint it i would go with the brownish tint to match your car but really light so you can see the curtains and still see inside.

I like green..haha, had to add it. It only looks right on black, white, silver, and earth tones though...which you have.

Who needs tint when you can put vodka/cranberry in a snapple bottle? Really though, if your car doesn't get hot inside, I think just the curtains w/o tint.

haha yea i forgot to add too that another reason why i'm looking for tint is because it gets really hot if i leave my ride for more than 30 minutes in the sun. i always have to blast my a/c for 5 minutes before putting my son inside.

looking at the color, I'd opt "no tint". Here in TX you need tint because of the crazy heat during summer....

When I read you have a kid you put in there, you should definitely get tint. I personally love tinted windows and bronze tint would look great.

Tint. >60% to block the heat. Driving without tint in tropical country is really killing you. The car will act like green house and only plants can stay in it.

Agreed, if you are putting young ones in there I would def. say some form of tint. Depending on the tone of the bronze, it could look really sweet. Here in FL tint is a must

I think dark tint has fallen out of favor.

Maybe I just grew-up...

and wanted the ladies to be able to see in.

Go light bronze or green if you want a subtle look.

Light = classy

Dark = thug

I dont know what type of tint i have, but from a far or in a dark area, my windows looks like they are 20% chrome tinted. You would see your reflection before you even notice the interior, but a couple feet away you can still see in the car a lil.

I like it cause the mirror black matches well with the mirror tint.

But for a fact, get it tinted but not too crazy, like socalsc4 said, light tint is classy. I would how ever try to get my rear windows tinted like 15% and 25% all around but 50% up front.

I don't know about growing up, I'm nearly 40, and love dark tint. Plus I have full curtains, you can't even see in the back with your face next to the glass. But to me, a black car with black tint is pure class. I like the way no tint looks too, but I'm used to having tint and prefer it tinted.

I have something like 25% on the back windows and 50% on the front doors.

have you considered a silver tint?

Not so much that your lady can use ur outside windows to apply her makeup, but just a little to give it something to set it off - like 50% all around

I usually go with dark tiny because with a fixed up car people just stare sometimes and it bugs the crap out of me... I know it causes problems sometimes but I'm still happy with my 13% tiny on cars
Also just in case you're doing something embarrassing like singing digging for gold in the nose or even acting crazy talking to yourself (Bluetooth or a headset) tint protects you from embarrassment haha

No purpose as in what? My green tint is 35% and has UV protection. It seems to keep the car cooler than the 35% charcoal in the Benz too.

Tint or no tint?

I too have an earth tone colored car!! I've already got a "Factory" tinted windows with a bronze color. But I want to go darker!! I don't want smoked tint because it won't go with the color of my car and I don't think it will go well with the "Factory" tint. I found a guy in my area that uses 3M brand tint and what he showed me was a tint that does'nt really have a color when you see it on a clear glass. When its on a car, the windows take on a natural tint that seems to darken to the shade of the interior!! He was done doing a Porsche with black interior. when you opened the door the window didn't really look all that dark!! When he closed the door the windows looked really dark!!! He was doing another car with the same tint. So I watched him while he did that car too!!! The stuff is amazing!!He said if I were to use this tint it would darken my windows without changing the bronze in the "factory" tint. I'm thinking of doing all 6 of my windows.( windshield included). he said @ $500 with a warranty!!!

35% all the way around will look nice. bronze or charcoal. you will still be able to see your curtains a little but not that great. the green tint will look okay as well. anything darker than 35% will be kind of dark and you may have to worry about getting tickets.

heres a pic of mine in 3M carbon 50% all the way around. i'll post up a side shot so you can see the curtains maybe tomorrow.

35% all the way around will look nice. bronze or charcoal. you will still be able to see your curtains a little but not that great. the green tint will look okay as well. anything darker than 35% will be kind of dark and you may have to worry about getting tickets.
